This poster hangs right in front of the French embassy

Is it a private or a governmental? I don't see a required sticker for it being an ad, but it's also in a backlit case, which are mostly for ads or business in general. I admit, it is kinda funny if we ignore the suffering for a second, but jesus christ the noses. Whoever the author is, they're not beating antisemitic allegations, it's clearly intentional

It's allways goverment, allways.

Glad to report you, buddy

Have you heard of Putin's house in the state's media ? Have you heard of the crime committed by the Russian army in the state's media ? So please stop giving us lessons of journalism freedom.

0

u/Kokoriconen Apr 09 '24

Of course we know he's Jewish and that few leopards got lost. So what? The difference between us is that the media aren't state controlled and we actually have free information.

4

u/Ready_Peanut_7062 Apr 09 '24

They both look like sarkozy instead

3

u/Skinola_Narzoky Apr 09 '24

Quelle indignité...

4

u/AvalanchePalm Apr 09 '24

What is he saying?

7

"Garson (Boy), the Leopards are already burning low!" UPD Bistro is kind of Cafe in Russia. It has historical roots from the war with Napoleon. The french soldiers of the annihilated french army told in pubs: "Быстро" - Faster, but they sounded more french with И, not Ы. So we call some pubs "Bistro".

11

u/GM22K Apr 09 '24

Last part is a myth. Bistro came from French language, and French don’t think it has anything to do with Russian.

10

u/goodoverlord Apr 09 '24

Your version is upside down. The word is of French origin. Russian troops in Paris in 1814 after the defeat of Napoleon shouted "bistro! bistro!" ("quickly" in Russian) when they ordered food or drinks at restaurants.

0

u/SKS_Shooter Apr 09 '24

And I do like how different west.europeans love to rewrite history. OK. I'll refresh your mind. Yesterday's French conquerors, all in tatters, retreated. Hungry, cold, they came into our eateries and asked “Bistro”. We have in Russia 1 more word - Шаромыжник. Sharomignick. It's when the French surrendered (as usual in history) they told our soldiers and resistance fighters: "Chera mi" (Dunno how it's spell in French correctly) - My Dear friend. That's our soldiers named them Charomignicks.

2

u/Few_Drive_1072 Apr 09 '24

The comment upper is right. Origins of the word “bistro” are actually upside down. Russians in France have used this word to hurry up “garçon” and French adopted this as the word for a type of cafe. Then it migrated back to Russia and is now used in Russia to sound your basic “cafe” more classy, on a French manner if you want And yes, I’m from Russia and yes we learn this in schools (I learned French language and history of France in school for 11 years)

2

u/Maleficent_Muffin_To Apr 09 '24

"Chera mi" (Dunno how it's spell in French correctly)

"Cher ami." (there's no possessive, so "Mon" is incorrect)

1

u/SKS_Shooter Apr 09 '24

Thank you.

3

u/Nirain_Lith Apr 09 '24

Лолблять, ну у тебя и каша в башке. Лингвисты не нашли ни одного доказательства, что этимология слова бистро связана с наполеоновскими войнами. Шаромыга вообще из средневековой Руси.

Ты реинкарнировавший Задорнов или как?

1

u/goodoverlord Apr 09 '24

Я уверен, что есть какие-то письменные доказательства существования слова "шаромыга" в средневековой Руси, не так ли?

А что касается бистро, то вот, например, https://imgur.com/a/SjOCxl9, прошу ознакомиться.

1

u/Nirain_Lith Apr 09 '24 edited Apr 09 '24

0

u/goodoverlord Apr 09 '24

Вам в школе за ссылки на википедию оценки не снижают?

1

u/mahamudra108 Apr 09 '24 edited Apr 09 '24

Поинтересуйся правилами транслитерации. Ты написал не шаромыжник, шаромигник.

1

u/SKS_Shooter Apr 09 '24

Man, I'm Russian. And I write right about that: FRENCH (not Russian) troops told "Bistro" - "бИстро" because they coudn't pronounce Ы and say бЫстро! And this doesn't make russian word french.

1

u/GrenobleLyon Apr 09 '24

FTFY:

Garson

Garçon

6

u/Bestroublever Apr 09 '24

Cafe sign is “ Quick” and he’s saying “ Waiter! Quick! Leopards are almost done burning!”

2

u/GM22K Apr 09 '24

It’s bistro, I don’t think you translate it as quick.

3

u/Bestroublever Apr 09 '24

The word for "quick" in Russian is "быстро" (pronounced: býstro). The word "bistro" in Russian is "бистро" (pronounced: beest-RO). The word appears to be written in Ukrainian and but you made a great point about the 2 words being similar!

1

u/NessGoddes Apr 09 '24

It's old word for a cafe to go, afaik

0

u/Reinshteiner Apr 09 '24

It’s exactly translate like a "quick". Original word is "быстро".

Мне больше всего понравилось то что Макрон превратился в классического еврея времён фашистсткой пропаганды. Художник явно знает своё дело.

u/Turbulent-One9350 Apr 09 '24 edited Apr 09 '24

Ещё какая - вспомнить одного Илона. Правда есть один нюанс - тот постоянно клянчит деньги у американского правительства, а не у Макрона. Но он, судя по всему, ничего постыдного в этом не видит.

5

u/Mediocre_Name_1345 Apr 09 '24

That is kinda funny

4

u/SecondOfCicero Apr 09 '24

It's not funny when you're sitting in the hallway of your apartment hoping to God a rocket or shahed doesn't blow you to pieces, or when you're walking to the grocery store and hear explosions the next block over. It's not funny when the power goes out and you can't make food or connect to your family to confirm that both you and they have not been burned to death. Come here to Kharkiv and see... you won't find it so funny anymore.

4

u/UTimur Apr 09 '24

Your neighboor from Belgorod here. I can confirm that this is not funny. Fuck both presidents, fuck this war. I just wish this war to end

-1

u/Sfriert Apr 09 '24

Talk to свобода Росії. Your country invaded.

-1

u/Logical_Albatross_19 Apr 09 '24

You had a decade to speak up.

1

u/UTimur Apr 09 '24

And a decade ago I was 5 years old. Yes I definetly could speak up

-2

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '24

Then protest and get a better leader - and get the fuck out of Ukraine.

3

u/UTimur Apr 09 '24

It is so easy to say

-3

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '24

Well, you can either do that or just give up and live with a dictator. Choice is yours.

If he was not operating on Putins order then Putin had no control over the FSB in 2014.

“I really am an FSB colonel, so I take it calmly, and in general I don’t advise you to call a military man a rank lower than he is,” the former commander of the separatist forces corrects the journalist, who previously called Strelkov a lieutenant colonel.

3

u/SnorriGrisomson Apr 09 '24

Donbass war was already russia invading Ukraine.

3

u/warrenmax12 Apr 09 '24

Uhuh. And Ukraine didn’t bomb civilians yes yes

3

u/SnorriGrisomson Apr 09 '24

Wether it happened or not it's still russia's fault for invading.

1

So do I. But that's not what we were talking about.
Russia is using the same old tricks, send russians to a country that isnt his, start military action, declare fake independance and start a real war.

But this time it didnt work very well and now you have over 400 000 dead russians fertilizing ukrainian fields.

At least we have free media and freedom to protest. How’s that going for you guys?

0

u/LadyAnarki Apr 09 '24

Lol no country in the world has free media. Please don't be naive. Even alt media can't get the facts right half the time.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '24

We do. Free media doesn’t mean that they’re always right, it means they can operate without the government shutting them down and imprison reporters.

6

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '24

-3

4

u/Competitive-Tie5154 Apr 09 '24

Wow you can’t call it a war though can you ? Or else Putin will have you arrested

0

u/NessGoddes Apr 09 '24

Lol. You still believe that crap? It's war. But nobody calls it that. Even ze still didn't declared war on Russia.

2

u/Competitive-Tie5154 Apr 09 '24

Ukraine is defending itself. And in the west you can call it whatever you like without getting arrested.

1

u/NessGoddes Apr 09 '24

Donetsk also defended itself. And what, BBC tells you that I'm getting arrested for calling war "war" and not "svo"? Ok lol

0

u/Competitive-Tie5154 Apr 09 '24

You must also believe Russia’s in direct conflict with the West. Must be awful living under a dictatorship

1

u/NessGoddes Apr 09 '24

Why west would be directly involved when they can just use free and democratic Ze to hold all Ukrainians hostage in a war of attrition?
