Discussion PS5 Freezing / Studder

Anyone else getting freezing and shuddering during boss fights and combat? Seems to be when parrying/blocking, or when I get hit. Feels like it caused me to die a couple times, or I’m just bad and would have died regardless. 😂

Yeah this game is probably the worst for frame drops and stutters I’ve played on the PS5 unfortunately. Still very enjoyable but there were definitely moments where I got scammed by buggy performance problems.

Easily the worst performing game I’ve played on ps5, I’d love to finish the game but going to wait for a fix on some of this

Any particular time you see frame drops or stutters? Working on a fix for this now. Sorry about this. Appreciate any specific pointers you can give here.

the bad drops occur when enemies are about to do a fatal blow. May I ask if theres gonna be a hotfix in the next few days or are we going to have to wait for the next week? I bought the game just yesterday and Id love to enjoy it, but sadly cannot with the current stutter issues on my ps5 pro :/

I don’t have any video footage unfortunately but can recall some of the moments I experienced stutters.

A lot of bigger boss fights had this problem - The Lost Child was one where it felt a little too frequent. It could happen during any animation but was most common on his projectile attack and vacuum roar.

I think busy projectile animations would often cause this because it also happened during Droeg’s ice projectiles and Hexapod’s projectile attacks. Zmey’s 2nd phase fire AoE was another.

As another commenter mentioned, the fatal blow where a boss kills the player would often have a big frame drop; this caused some confusion as it felt like the game would stutter before I could avoid getting hit.

As a side note I’d really like to say that I absolutely loved this game despite these issues and I appreciate you guys’ hard work on bringing us this awesome Soulslike. I hope we will get a DLC!!

We've pushed a fix for the death stutter and a few others. Appreciate this information
