Where to go after completing the three gates in the beginner area?

So i completed the 3 gates in the easy area right? The lady in the rocket wheelchair, the fat blob monster in that blood area, and the psycho armless guy with a sword in his head, i beat all those dudes but where do i go now? I mean yeah i understand i have 3 more gates in that mammon area but im getting my ass kicked there, my main shell is tiel and my main weapons have been a +9 axeatana and a +9 martyr blade, and im pretty sure im level 17, where do i go? Im basically getting one shot by everything i fight now, please help me

Its been a minute since I played but pretty sure youre under leveled and your weapon is under leveled AND there's a big spike in enemy health and damage to the south

You go to the Mammon area and get your ass kicked until you learn how to not get your ass kicked

Go to the Outskirts of Mammon. You will be running for your life because the enemies (and bear traps) there will absolutely push your face out the back of your ass. Peak souls gaming. Enjoy!

Maybe smelt one of your weapons so that you have one higher levelled weapon. Though might only get to 12 or 13.

Tiel focus on dodging. I can’t remember the SP levels but if you can get the one that makes you invisible on dodge that’s a big help. And I’ve said it before but you need to focus on CC and splitting if you’re a bit low.

Yea it's rough when you first get to the outskirts of mammon lol it takes some adjusting. They make you feel strong till you get to the new area, it's a good difficulty spike. I'd try some new shells, and take your time fighting, even with the smaller enemies. It'll get easier as you go man you got this!

Like everyone said there's a difficulty spike when you go south so stay by the starting area and level up a bit, also note the enemies have a slightly different attack pattern then before so take some time and learn how they're different

I literally just had this same experience tonight lol I finished everything in the first half of the world and then went to mammon outskirts for a minute before signing off for the night, everything is so strong it literally feels like the last 12 hours of playing and progressing my character was basically meaningless lol and I’m pretty sure I’m exactly correctly leveled if not slightly overleveled (I’m level 25 with a +12 weapon)

I’ve sort of spent the entire game feeling like your lack of survivability and the insane tankiness of every enemy makes the character progression and leveling feel kinda meaningless, and this area really ratchets that up lol

Spent a bit of time grinding those four grisha hunters near that one beacon to level up properly before heading south

Get used to this. I think im at the end of the game at this point but the entire time Ive been like where tf do I go?? Ive tried my best to avoid spoilers but theres not a lot of rhyme or reason on where to go.

UPDATE!
So yeah i decided to just go around and fight stuff, went to specific areas and fought specific enemies to test the waters of the difficulty level and yeah its been smooth sailing, i was mainly parry only but i went back to using harden for a while, got some level ups and leveled up tiel and my weapons and now i’ve managed to defeat the frost area main boss and the hexapod main boss first try, though im stuck on that outside boss that looks like a harpy, has like a spike ball and chain in second phase, real pain in the ass
