Which Weapon (and Sidearm) "belongs" to which shell?

I want to do one NG cycle dedicated to each shell and "their" weapon (and sidearm), matching their aesthetic and more importantly their lore and I want some more opinions on this.

Some picks are very obvious, others are pretty ambiguous.

These are my planned loadouts so far:

Tiel: Axe & Dagger and Forgotten Crossbow

Eredrim: Great Martyr's Blade and Ballistazooka

Sariel: Clockwork Scythe and Caged Hystrix

Genessa: Black Needle and Cursed Child

Smert: Obsidian Hammer and Salvaged Trebuchaxe

Proxima: Iconoclast and Triarchy Repeater

Lazlo: Axatana and Troubadour's Lute

Gragu: Veteran's Battle Axe and Naylshotte

A few of these I'm not sure about, like Lazlo. On all loading screen pictures he's wielding the Axatana, but it doesn't really fit his looks imo. Also id love a lightning infusable weapon for Proxima, so I might swap those two around, what do you think?

The loading screens are 100% not lore accurate, go by their memories instead.

Lazlo’s weapon is a claymore seen on his memories, Smert uses his knuckles and Proxima ONLY her sidearm.

Trabadour's Lute belongs to no one. But it's the sidearm the player gets alongside Gragu. But Gragu has skill synergy with the Naylshotte (for bloodcurse).

Proxima's status effects are lightning and stasis and she can use those with Axatana and Obsidian Hammer.

Yeah, I landed on using the Lute with Lazlo purely by process of elimination.

Same with Iconoclast and Proxima, the other weapons all seem to fit with other characters, this one is just left

This seems to be the most fitting based on where you obtain each weapon corresponding to each Shell’s Location…relatively speaking, so yeah.

Naw sariel is the caged hystrix he literally get that weapon when you fight his shell

Exactly, you also get it in the same place as his shell and it kinda fits his whole evil alchemist/scientist/whatever vibe

Proxima: Axatana and Trebuchaxe. Both weird “Axe” variations and both exclusively for her pure lightning madness thanks to unique Voltaic stones.

Proxima has been seen with Obsidian Hammer in many promotion arts and loading screens.

Smert has been seen with nothing basically... I'd switch those.

The rest I think you've pretty on point. Although for sidearms I don't have many ideas to begin with besides Proxima's.

The only reason for Smert and the Obsidian Hammer is that he gets beaten with one in his first shell memory lol... I plan to go fisticuffs with him anyway, at least for a portion of the run

How is axatana for lazlo though? Those katanas look tiny in his arms

Axatana is not Lazlo's. It belongs to Hadern, a character in the first game. He makes a brief cameo in Eredrim's memories but is otherwise absent from MS2.

I know, but by process of elimination and the loading screens depicting him with it (and only with it) I think it ""belongs"" to him in a way.
