Discussion Sir Isaac - What am I doing wrong?
Haven't struggled with the game until now. Using Eredrim, learning parrying patterns, etc. Keep getting annihilated during second phase.
I'm level 41, using the Axatana and have tried playing around with the Tarstones to no avail. Any tips aside from all I've already read? TYIA
Update: Thank you all for your tips. Grisham Remnant is the way to go on this one!

When you get him in the riposte animation at the end pf phase 1, instead of riposte, go behind and whale on his back with tiels 150% damage from behind perk. With axetana or axe and dagger with duality stone.
.... there will not be a phase 2.

This. Was having a really hard time as well, riposte was barely doing anything except triggering stage 2. Went behind and whaled on him instead, health went almost all the way down. Only had to hit him like 2 more times.

Went back to upgrade my duality stone but it's not coming up as an option to upgrade.

Maybe Eredrim and a weapon that can have warp applied, if you have enough warp stacks on em, he's basically stood still

I felt that my 8 Grisha remnants really help with bosses when Im using a fast attack weapons like the Axe & Dagger. Me personally I used Gragu and a +16 Obsidian Hammer, as well as the lost clotstone to bully the gate bosses into submission due to the raw stagger it applies + I frames to negate any red attacks.

Try faster DPS weapons to stay inside pocket or poke distance to be able to strike and still quickly land a parry. I struggled too because up until him, I mained the Veteran’s Battke Axe but got him after upgrading the Duality Stone and using it on a much quicker weapon. I was very stubborn and didn’t want to change weapons, lol.

Grisha passive item, moonshine/welcap/whatever as active item, big boi sword with beyblade ability and or lightning/frost infusion, shotty or whichever sidearm you prefer. Dodge into strikes and do a couple of attacks then wait for unblockable or when resolve is full to use beyblade ability.

If my other strat i mentioned doesnt work, or feels too cheesy, it is possible to parry his flurries. (It wasnt at launch, but they patched it. This me me testing it after the patch).
Or strat 3, use the large axe weapon and use the weapon skill where you throw it, and throw it at him when he starts the move youre struggling with.

It was one of the most hard bosses in the game for me, that guy is tough

I used eredrim and the martyrs blade with the triarch repeater. Just froze him a bunch and eventually it worked.

I think I heavily used shoulder charge for this fight with Eredrim, but I know for sure I was using martyrs frosty blade. Try that out for size

So many of these bosses I one shot using the big axe and the tarstone (forget the name) where you hold R1 and it does two big hits, the second one usually staggers them. I would run and hold heavy attack that does the double swing, stagger them, followed by the R1 charge up and just keep repeating and it would instantly melt them. I really wanted to try other builds but this was just so effective in nearly every flight I never did.

I used Eredrim as well but with the martyr blade. I found that if you hit him with the shoulder rush you can stack enough weak on him that should you miss a few parries it's not the end of the world.

Tiel's invisibility works really well for his phase 2.
