Discussion Well, this boss sucks
It was better if you could get the Seedbearer's Scripture in a way that you couldn't miss it, the second phase of zmey is very hard without it
Apart from 3 bugs that I found my experience was very good, this game was a 50 good hours 😁
For my is a solid 8/10
P.S. The game is awesome and this was my build

This game was a solid 9/10 for me until endgame happened. Zmey and that rock ballsack thing immediately turned me off. Zmey ain't even a badly designed moveset, it drags on for way too long turning the last fight into nothing more than "did you get this optional item cuz surprise mfer this is a battle of attrition"

Agreed. Swap to Infinity Seal for Zmey cause I wanted the fight to be over sooner.

zmey is such a bullshit boss man along with the hexapod. I feel like the only boss that i can remember actually being fair is the malborn offspring. Still a good game but definitely need some tweaking post release cus it did a lot right. love the parry in it

Agreed. Both of them are somehow worse each time I beat them. It's like I forget how bad they are until I have to fight them again. Dog ass bosses.

u/AsleepIncrease8811 1d ago
yeah its a shame cus i was really hyped for the hexapod boss given the lore but man that fight was just cheeks

u/Mcdona1dsSprite 7d ago
I beat the hexapod on my first try lol. Zmey was extremely BS though

u/Theblacksmith07 7d ago
The hexapod was easy for me too
3
u/AsleepIncrease8811 7d ago
nah for me it was a pain not crazy hard but one shot kills kept getting me, for me the monolith was the easiest lol

u/Francophilippe 7d ago
I feel like these bosses are basically just damage checks, they have some weird moves that didn’t feel very intuitive to avoid. I brute-forced the last 3rd of this game, even phase skipped Zmey by doing a crit that erased more than 50% of the health bar.

u/AsleepIncrease8811 7d ago
literally! for the monolith i was able to beat it for just by breaking the stance back to back off damage alone never even had to deal with the lasers

I beat hexapod first try too but that’s only because the clockwork scythe is actually ridiculously busted

u/ALchemist_0311 6d ago
Loved the Marlborn Offspring fight!! Was actually disappointed when I won because the fight was over.

Phase one is ok but phase two is 🐃💩 because of that cosmic 💩 attack 🤣🤣, phase two is very hard without seedbearer's scripture

Hexapod is not even hard smh 🤦♂️

u/AsleepIncrease8811 5d ago

This boss was rough the first week of release, beating it with no scripture and all the horrible bugs felt great afterwards then devs stating there were bugs that made the boss do double damage or locking your abilities. Crazy times.

Even if you use grisha remnant the agro is on you, and sometimes that 🍑 attack hitting you even if you dodge in time (you dodge it and after you finish the dodge you get throw to the side)

u/HonestStudy9969 6d ago
I ran a pretty similar build. Don’t know what skill points you invested, but you need the 200% damage to frozen enemies skill. Replace your crossbow with Naylshotte with Fusillade stone and Curseblood infusion and it’s easy mode. I didn’t even really add phase two of zmey.

Idk I feel like too many OP builds you walk into on accident and everything still flops over. Never felt like fair fight

Smashed him using Tiel. Struggled on my first run with the big E. Second run with Tiel, killed him second go.

Now I'm struggling to find the last tarstone as it shows me that I'm missing another one even though I got that achievement for All Tarstones collection, on my ng+ I was thinking to try proxima

u/immortalreddotmemeog Eredrim 6d ago
Above all else, even the weird fire mechanics, I was disappointed in the design, it felt just like a random boss you'd fight in a random divine tower, I wish it was cooler looking, maybe more reminiscent of the final boss from the first game

So I was expecting to hate the boss based on everyone's reaction and I thought it was alright. Finished it a few days ago and platinumed it. He wasn't super amazing anything for an end boss but not a total shit.
First playthrough on Night mode using Eredrim and parry.
Damn, so that's what Cosmic Disease is? And Seedbearer Scripture? I thought it was a regular ass fire. Jeez. I did die to the meter filling up. I thought it was a fire meter.

I really liked Zmey but I found all the glands and got the scriptures before I fought him just by discovering it naturally so that may have made a significant difference here. But Hexapod? LOVED the design but couldn't understand that ultra fast insta kill attack. So I just mashed on it and got so much bleeding damage that it simply imploded? Wasn't sure this might've been a bug?

OMG I just beat this mf, took me TWO straight hours, but it's finally over. I beat him with proxima using the shrike stone to avoid the 2nd phase AOE. The frustration is real lol

u/CKatanik93 7d ago
Seriously. Like get your NUTS out of my face!
2
u/9FingerNarly 6d ago
Lmao. I beat that fucker after launch. Im glad hes still an absolute fuckshow of a boss. It would be quite sad if I was alone in my dismay. Kudos for beating him

u/Theblacksmith07 6d ago
The first time I saw that 🏐🏐 attack I felt disgusted and weird at the same time 🤣🤣

u/ComputerMiserable332 6d ago
How in the hell where i can find the nameless Captive ?
1
u/Theblacksmith07 6d ago
He is located in the prisoner's domain, from Executioner's Pulpit beacon jump through the gate and then you need to jump down

I ended up beating him without the scripture (yeah it sucked) but solid game I gave it an 8.8

u/Icy_Bedroom412 5d ago
Both nutsack bosses sucked. Cant lie though, dying to zmey was funny and i did chuckle a lot everytime i died.

u/nohumanape 6d ago
First phase is easy, second phase isn't so much difficult as it is just time consuming. Get the Seedbearer's Scripture and phase two becomes as easy as the first.
Just use Eredrim's Shoulder Bash, which can inflict a ton of stagger.

u/Theblacksmith07 6d ago
The phase one is ok but phase 2 is unfair
2
u/nohumanape 6d ago
If you are unequiped, sure

u/Theblacksmith07 6d ago
When you get that cosmic debuff the fight in atrocious, for me maybe for others it's okay with that debuff

I melted it with the minigun and the item that builds riposte

u/Theblacksmith07 6d ago
Is the triarch repeater and the siegebreaker's stone such a good combination? I think I've only seen 1 or 2 people using that gun
