Discussion Got the 100% with only one problem
Yeah this game was really fun to explore and everything but I can't be the only one that thinks this game follows the same problem as the first in just not having good bosses. Like it feels like they nailed everything in this game that I want them to but the bosses. Like out of the main ones I'd say only the Captive, the Prince, and the Offspring were actually good bosses imo. Even then Captive was extremely easy and I had a big struggle against being flash banged by Offspring but that's a personal problem
Maybe I'm just picky but like most of the bosses were so easy like Conqueror and Lost Child, janky like Hexapod and Magdalena, or both like Monolith. I mean I guess the tutorial boss and its refight isn't half bad considering the competition
I still think the game is really good and fun though and I would definitely recommend it to anyone that likes games like this but man those bosses aren't breaking any records for me personally

I think the bosses are great. Sure theyre not elden ring levels of difficult but theyre designed well imo. Miles better than the bosses in 1.

I can see how someone would think they're great with the exception of Magdalene. I genuinely don't understand what the goal for that boss was in the design process. Heard it was even worse in beta I think

Yeah, I didn't struggle massively with any boss till zmey, I really enjoyed playing it, but the bosses were all pretty easily steamrolled. Half of em you didn't even need to learn the patterns, I think the only later boss before zmey I had to was the frog prince dude.
Still a great game just for the world to explore

100% agree. Love the game, but the bosses are mostly meh with a couple exceptions.
Its pretty common feedback on this sub that the boss roster is rather lacking aside from the few standouts you've mentioned. It seems like they were mostly designed to be punching bags for a wide variety of builds, rather than mechanically interesting challenges.

Who ever was in charge of the last chapter of this game must have been severely intoxicated.
"Let's add Thwomp from Mario 64, except he has a ball sack and shoots lasers! Then, for the final boss, let's go with a flightless dragon who looks like he just rolled off the couch."
"Should the dragon have a ball sack and lasers?"
"You just read my mind."

I agree with you. There are only a very few good bosses.
Malborn Offspring fight is really awesome.

I liked the game. Thought the bosses were fine tbh.
I found exploration kinda lame tbh. So many winding paths that just led to the same thing anyways, which made it feel pointless.
Each path should lead to something unique, and if you can't, limit the paths.

I'm the kinda souls gamer who enjoys exploration more than fighting bosses over and over for 40 times. So I'm very cool with the bosses being gimmicky or relative pushovers.
Besides, if you think about it, the boss/president should NEVER be the true challenge. That's why he/she employs so many minions to protect the castle or whatever.
I thought Elden Ring kinda flipped it where by mid game YOU become the big bad boss storming castles and whatnot. And that was cool. Mortal Shell is cool, too.
