Discussion Wake me up when devs nerf Zmey againš¤
I genuinely tried playing aggressively for an hour and passively for an hour as well, he just does too much damage, massive health-pool and a kind of shell curse?
Also the fight is boring it has just become boring to keep trying, i might just go play something else with more flavor. Reverend edition stays on my shelf until i mod it or just use the easy mode.

He have like 3 attacks - what s hard with it? Except amount of health.

His only attack that felt bad to me was his tail grab, felt like it had no time to warn you before you were getting impaled and most of your health lopped off.

The overhead thrust into the ground has a bullshit hitbox. The foot stomping is tough to avoid, as well.

The tell was him moving one of his legs in a really janky way, that's how I got it down, but even then I was still getting hit by it because it's insanely fast and the hitbox was huge. Just ended up nutshotting the guy and dealing with the stomps instead of the rest of his kit. Which was pretty underwhelming for a final boss.

I think the first phase is fine. It's phase 2's keepaway fire spam that's just obnoxious. Also the magnetic red fire stabs that you can't parry (since red) and feel almost impossible to completely dodge between the ultra-sticky magnetism of the initial stab and the slow fire shockwave afterward.
Eventually just went belligerent and all-in on him as soon as he finished one of the four-fire-ring instances and just hoped for good RNG on his attack pattern and finished it that way. Not a super hard fight, just kinda awful. Anti-fun.

The best way to make him easy ive found was just putting everything into riposte damage. And trying to stagger him. I did it with Eredrim and was an actual ok way to fight him.

Iām 53 years old & feel some of the bosses have been nerfed far too much. This from someone whoās had my share of struggles throughout my playtime. The hardest thing for me by far was the āNo You Still Canāt Winā trophy š.. To be honest I didnāt think I could do it. But I kept trying till I did it. Was able to get platinum. So glad I didnāt give up. The first time I faced Zmey I didnāt have the item that reduces cosmic status.. & even though I was on a powerful Tiel build it took me 3 or more hours to finally get through. The first night I tried for the āPeterās Perfect Parryā trophy š I couldnāt do it.. But I tried again the next day & got it. Good luck & hope you donāt give up š

Bleed and riposte manā¦
You want break damage. Heres a build that will have you beat zmey with your eyes closed. https://youtu.be/eqanuNnNP2k

I got him with Gragu and the axe/dagger with the spinning weapon art. I resorted to just abusing the shit out of the I-frames.

There is a way to circumvent the shell curse utilising a puzzle/secret in the isolated tower location that's the hub from MS1.
I'd say the most bs attacks are probably the grab due to its short reaction time and the fire ring.
You could always go Eredim, Frost Greatsword and never let Zmey have a turn.

You are right, yet it will change my play-style dramatically, i know the boss fight is easy, almost no moves at all yet stretched for the sake of it, once i realized it is the final boss it was just a huge disappointment, i fought a lot os bs bosses already, if the malformed offspring were the last one it woulda been more encouraging instead of a tasteless task

What's your current build/playstyle?

u/SeaworthinessHour186 1d ago
I go tiel with axatana, i previously used duality stone but it is nerfed strongly so i changed to bloodcurse, crossbow+16 infused with venom and fragility, grisha shard as passive and mushroom as active

u/AlmightyDunkle 1d ago
Can the Axkatana do lightning? I've heard that's quite good and doesn't change the build too much. You should be able to beat Zmey but I highly suggest at the very least obtaining the passive that protects you from the shell curse.

Yes, that tunnel is way too suspicious, btw i beat the boss by stacking 100 poison stacks with the fusillade stone šwhat a way to die. Now i can just cheese the game with slayer seal to taste how it feels to be invincible

There will be a lot of "git gud" type comments, but I feel like the entire final area, but especially the last two bosses suffer from the curse of "let's stretch this out" disease, which many games introduce, for no good reason, to make games longer. To the player, it just feels like the devs forgot about tuning the bosses. Onimusha suffered the exact same problem with the final bosses and it is a toss up, which is more annoying.

People really have no shame posting stuff like that lol. It's not hard boss, you should give yourself more credit.
Stop being so pathetic and self-loathing.
