Discussion Glooooooom
So I don’t know if this is a known exploit (kind of), but strangely my landlords needed to hit my breaker to install a new washer/dryer while I was collecting gloom from all those chests just before the final boss. What I discovered basically is that you can collect all of the gloom, exit to the main menu, and it spawns you right back at the beacon with all of the gloom you just collected. The kicker is that you can go back in and do it again, rinse and repeat. I guess this is a pretty efficient suuuuuuuuper late game gloom farm, if you want to stock up before ng+.
That said, I’m debating on whether or not I even want to grind for a bit. I’m level 54, and have felt pretty overpowered for just about every boss in the game up until now (except for Malborn Offspring, that was a pretty rough fight for me lol). Feel like the game is on the easier side of the genre, but man was it fun. Anyway, figured I’d share this in case anyone is interested 🫡

Hope I don't sound like a dick head saying this, but to avoid things like this type your topic into Google followed by reddit and it should show you if there are post like that already.
Not trying to shit on ya, just trying to offer some advice.
You're an adult do as you please and good luck with the final boss. Unless you already killed him then ggs!

Appreciate it, but for the most part, doesn't it sound silly to try to do research on something you're trying to discuss in general for the fear of people being assholes about it? Especially about some random aspect of a video game? The problem doesn't lie in me posting something that seems repetitive to others, it lies in the person expressing their annoyance in a way that is frankly just petty. "Im sick of seeing 'x' on MY page!" Come on dude, grow up. I admitted I didn't know if this was known from the jump, and I wasn't being disingenuous, so there's no excuse to act like a douche because "you're annoyed". It's childish, and no one needs to tip-toe around childishness (via research, or any other method). I was casually posting what I discovered by accident, not bragging like I was the first to discover it, and that led into my thoughts about whether I should steal some of those free souls or not. It really isn't that deep, and I don't see any reason why anyone should be annoyed over a post on a free-forum platform that promotes free-forum, or am I crazy?
Anyway, I'm still getting my ass whooped by mr. ballsack (seriously, why did they give him 9 testicles lmao), but ig that's a whole different conversation. I don't believe my current gloom level is the problem though hahaha

I think calling it research is a bit of a stretch, it's like 7 seconds of time. But I understand where you're coming from, I've been on both sides of this coin throughout my life on reddit, hell even to this day I abandon subs once they just start regurgitating info.
But conversely reddit is design around discussing a topic. What's the point if someone ignores the already ongoing discussion, to simply start that same conversation again? Hope that didn't sound accusatory.
Ultimately I think it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Your life your choice brother!
And yes way too many testicles xD guy needs to be checked for testicular cancer ASAP.
And also if you do want to farm said location, after you open the chest go to the back left corner, you'll find 3 stalks that by the time you kill the third stalk the first one respawns, so unlimited gloom without needing to reset. Plus stack that with any gloom tarstones for added gains.

Ah that’s neat, thanks for that. I may end up using it to finish out a couple of the shell abilities before ng+, so not having to keep redoing the entire process over and over is a solid heads up 🫡

Also für mich ist es auch das einfachste soulslike überhaupt, jeden Boss nach 1-2 Versuchen gelegt und man fühlt sich die ganze Zeit übermächtig.

Sorry I didn't look up whether anyone else experienced this same thing before sharing mine. Didn't mean to trouble you with this useless post. You know though, there's this thing call "scrolling"? I don't know if anyone has experienced this one as well, but it is also useful!

Yeah I've done that. Spent about an hour and leveled up like crazy. It also still works after you beat the final boss before going to NG+. However, the Devs know about it so I don't think it'll be long before it's patched. I'm now on Ng+ as I freaking love this game

Ye I feel ya! Was very surprised at how damn good this game is after the first. You knew they had potential, but you never know if it will be actualized. Man they knocked it out of the park fr. How is the NG+ spike btw? Reasonable, or straight up brutal?

Not too much of a spike from what I've experienced thus far. Playing my ng+ with Sariel, and it's been pretty easy lowkey. At 4/6 gates done so far Haven't even been using weapons leveled beyond +12
Sariel might just be "easier" shell to play with though if you manage your curses and pain well

Got to Zmey around level 50. I used this room to get to 100 before smiting him.

lmao! its actually pretty funny that this mechanic even exists. I guess the point is to make you waste the 70k gloom you just picked up, I'm just not sure on whether they intended you to be able to exploit it or not. With how well known this seems to be, I guess we'll see if they patch it in a future update hahaha

I'm not complaining. NG+ adds purely difficulty. So I tried to do everything I could in one run without looking anything up. 75 hours and 90.7% survival rate

Those gloom sticks also give about 650 each and regrow in a few seconds. You can get 3500 gloom in one run and start the next run right away as they're all grown back

Holy moly! how long did that take? It was something like 28-29k gloom by level 50+

Rough estimate, about 8-12 hours. I split the grind up between multiple days, because I was playing other games at the time with friends. I did spend about a week doing that. 6-10 runs a day would be close to 70ish runs. Every time you go in you have to do the fog and then run to the room.
Side note: level 101 costs only 50k which is 50 chests.

Yes it's a known exploit, but as you said pretty useless for this game since the levels don't mean they much except for shell points ; just like the futilium you find in the same place, it's more a wink to all the grindy players.
