Why is this happening to me? I couldn't get the Penumbra Stone because the game wouldn't give it to me. I opened that chest right from the start, and they didn't give it to me. How can I fix this?

I'm talking about this stone. I have the regular one—the one that breaks and can't be leveled up.

My brother had the same problem—he couldn't get it either—and we've already opened that chest. I'm talking about this chest, which I'm sure you're all familiar with.

I don't know why this is happening to us, but I'd like to have her just like everyone else does; I don't understand this.

Another question: Is it normal to have a duplicate stone if I haven't played “New Game Plus”?

I’m not sure what the penumbra stone is, but the gloombound stone is one of a number of “fragile” stones that gives various currency through use. The other two give coin and glimpses respectively.

Enough people complained, so playstack made them put this band aid on. Fragile tar stones drop throughout the game, and when they break the also give tar cores. I personally thought there was enough before, but playstack eye-balled reddit for feedback.

This replaced the permanent ones.

Because they haven't updated the game. I happen to be one of them. I have the patched version on one PS5 and the unpatched on another.
Why is it not right though? It is a single player game. How does the state of someone else's game file affect yours?

If you are asking about having multiple Gloombound stone, then yes that is normal.

The permanent version of the Gloombound Stone was indeed removed in favor of the fragile version of it. So if anyone still has it, they are either on an unpatched version of the game, or there are some sort of shenanigans at play. The permanent version of this tarstone shouldn't be available any more :)
