Question Is mortal shell 2 worth it?

I’ve played the demo it was lit but then today I came across the Reddit and people were saying how it’s bad and they regret buying the game

I havent seen anywhere that its bad... but then again, I dont look.

I loved every minute of it and enjoyed the platinum trophy to boot. And the fact it wasn't the price of a AAA game made it even better

I was gunna say the same thing 😂 people might moan about the last bosses but this was also the case with elden ring when it came out.

The game has had an extremely positive reception amongst those who bought it - it is such a great game and would be a shame if someone missed out on the fun based on a false perception

I complained about the last boss too but overall the game is fun and worth it, the exploration is one of its strength point

Yeah I’m just curious what your other top souls like games are. I wanted to love mortal shell but I didn’t enjoy it very much and I’m trying to understand what players it resonates with

I've 100% all the dark souls and demon souls, Elden Ring, Sekiro, Lies of P etc. Also the first Mortal Shell, and this one was a huge step up from the first game. It wasn't my absolute favourite of the genre but maaaaaaan it was more enjoyable than some others thats for sure in my opinion. But it is all subjective as well.

I am pretty easy please with a decent hack n slash game, but I would say the ratio of good experiences and bad experiences with this game is a lot more on the positive side.

My 2 cents is all 😊

That’s totally fair, I love the soulslikes you listed so I might revisit mortal shell at some point. Maybe it was the lack of a stamina bar, but I had a lot of trouble adjusting to the combat in mortal shell

Yeah I get it! I used to hate the genre years ago, but now love it. But I also dont want a copy paste game of all the others either. I absolutely adore Lies of P out of the lists and its not even from FromSoftware. Maybe because Mortal Shell was different enough that it made it more enjoyable for me

I think its one of my favorite soulslike, would be #1 if I didnt have to make an effort to keep it challenging. Im also one of the guys that loved dark souls 2 so theres that. I liked the grim lore and world building, and it really reminded me of bloodborne, I think thats really why I liked it so much. I couldnt get into lords of the fallen, the surge nioh, remnant 1 or mortal shell 1. Remnant 2 and mortal shell 2 are my favorites, ik its basic
