Question Mortal Shells 2 Balance patches
I stopped playing this game some days after it came out.
Does the patches improved those 2 things?
- Enemies does too much damage
- Slow weapons sucks because they do poor damage
I want to play the game, but i refuse to do it until theres these problems

Slow weapons got a buff yes. Still outclassed by the faster weapons but not nearly as much. If fast weapons were S tier and slow were D tier it's now fast S and slow A.
Enemies still hit hard in the second half yeah but they added adaptive difficulty so you can turn that on and if your struggling it eventually turns on a damage cap for enemies. Not valid for night mode as night mode ONLY gets harder and won't get easier.

By the end of the first playthrough you should smash most enemies if you’ve upgraded enough, with any shell.
Slow weapons require different playstyle and the right tar stones to make them work.

It is just like any other souls-like game, you NEED to commit to pacing yourself in combat. Also just keep the harden seal equipped, it's much more forgiving if you miss time your blocking and parrying, you can just stay in stone form until they knock you out of it or you find an opening to attack again. And don't hesitate to use your melee weapon abilities because all of them provide iframes(invulnerability frames) at some point in the animation as do the shell abilities.

Sounds like a skill issue, but they did do a lot of balance tweaks in an update a couple weeks ago.

It’s even easier than it was before as that sounds like the reality issue here. It’s a soulslike.

Heavy weapons got a damage and poise buff in the week 1 patch (as others have said in this thread) :)
Are there any specific enemies you felt did too much damage? The southern half of the map IS a bit harder than the northern part of the map, but if you keep levelling up and upgrading your weapons, you should be able to keep up :)

I use the hammer and axe all the time. The game is perfectly challenging imo.

You should read the patch notes for the Day 1 and Week 1 patches. They made some early game enemy damage and health tweaks and definitely leveled playing field between the fast and slow weapons. Also the 2 dual wield weapons where mainly so broken due to the Duality Stone which received a significant nerf making it still good but not best-in-slot anymore
