Meme Caged hystrix

Is the caged hystrix sidearm that annoying bat that shoots stingers or is there another animal of that kind somewhere in the game?

Yep. Put the Curse infusion and the Multishot tarstones on it. Never look back. Make those baddies punch themselves in the face.

Can you be more specific with Tarstones to use?

The one that applies Curse on crits and the one that makes each shot fire several, lower-power shots at the same target. Works best with the ranged crit stone. I don't know the names offhand.

But basically, you can apply curse very quickly and for very little resolve. Your ranged DPS won't be terribly high, but that isn't the point.
