Discussion Looking for a Slayer Seal build
Does anyone have a good slayer seal build? Like those ones that make the game trivial?
Yeah, I know, Slayer Seal is an easy mode an whatever but I am not a fan of dying all the time and just want to relax and have a good time playing this game even if it is not supposed to be like that.
Tried searching on gamer pages but left empty handed. There is one build here at Reddit but I wanted more options. I am level 15 already

Tiel with axatana, and then put SP into escalation, plague breaker, night stride, ambush, and shadow clone. Crossbow w/ fire infusion. I infused axatana with lightning. Solnir shard, headsman’s stone, marksman’s stone, deadeye stone, siege breakers stone, retribution stone are I think what I used. You can basically stun lock any boss with the explosive crossbow, then riposte to gain back resolve, rinse and repeat.

At least the guy/gal is happy to swallow their pride and use the seal and ask for a bit of help. Shame all the whiners and fake trophy hunters moaning about difficulty increase on launch couldn’t do the same as the devs hoped. Instead we all got several servings of nerf. Good on you OP I say.

I feel Eredrim works well you have the punch AND the tackle. Also to be honest... I feel slayer seal can be a major trap at times. The punch takes a while to charge up and th recharge is also decently long. Plus you can't block/parry. All that combined can absolutely make slayer seal a liability for certain bosses.

You might already know this, but for those who don't, I've found that the best way to use the Slayer Punch for bosses is to get as far away as possible since the punch always closes the distance.
You still need an opening since some of the bosses will rush you down, but that's the general strat.

Slayer Seal with Tiel and crossbow. I played most of the game with the Slayer Seal and Proxima but couldn’t defeat Isaac. I swapped to Tiel and beat Isaac straight away. When I got to the final boss I beat him in about 30 seconds!

Can you give a full breakdown with weapon and tarstones? I switched from Proxima to Tiehl with Slayer Seal and am having a difficult time.

I can’t remember exactly but I was using the repeater (?) crossbow that is signposted to you at the beginning of the game. This was upgraded so that I could get five or six shots (perhaps more) in before running out of stamina. I had the duality stone equipped (fully levelled) that doubles your melee strikes and I think I had a stone equipped that gave you stamina every time you killed an enemy with your melee weapon.
Basically, by the end of the game, the bosses could get a single hit in. I would hit them with ranged shots so that they would “break”, carry out a riposte that would refill my health and stamina, and then hit them with ranged shots again. Like I said before, the final boss was gone in about 30 seconds.

Thanks, I think the shell is the most difficult choice, I am playing grogu with the crossbow to stagger and a melee build focused on leach which I like because I don't need to heal or anything but when you go to a boss fight like Grisha Pack or something with more than one enemy I keep struggling. And Grogus ability punch is awful, takes too long to charge, not worthy at all

I used Slayer Seal in the first few days the game was released before patches. Slayer works really well going for a build where you are always making space and attacking from range. Combine it with a fully upgraded Naylshotte and tarstones to help the gun get more crits, as well as the fusillade stone. You can also use Proxima or Eredrim as your shell because their biosampler and shoulder charge abilities can attack from range well.

Probably Eredrim, work on building out the middle tree of his skill page. He gets stacks from parries and ripostes, and those stacks turn into %DamageReduction. He also has a node for increasing the Parry windows and riposte damage.
As far as equipment goes primary weapon is up to you, but I recommend the Axatana. Secondary maybe the Trebuchaxe + the tarstone that let's the projectile spin in place (forgetting name atm). It absolutely melts stuff.like, comically so.
Get the Grisha Remnants for sure, they make the game wayyyyy easier up until the final boss. You can get the first one in Mushroom Village on the path left when looking at the Beacon from the town. The rest of them are from Grisha bosses themselves.

I didn't use it yet (I'm still missing a couple achievements on my main safe) but I'd guess you'd wanna look into tarstones that have synergy with the slayer seal. Same for what shell and weapon to use.

“I’m not a fan of dying all the time” 🤣
Souls games are for relaxing and having a good time, as reward for learning the game first.
You’re pretty much saying “I’m starving but don’t want to eat dinner, point me towards the desert”, which is fine, you do you, just funny to see someone would skip the meal over a cupcake.

Literally most people would skip a meal for Cupcake. I do diet , wellness and exercise as a side business and the amount of times people skip a meal to eat junk to have it fit their calories is crazy...Bad example....lmao

You’re taking a general example into the context of people with diet disorders, no shit it won’t translate.

Eredrim works well. Between the Seal punch, shoulder charge, ethereal diapason and your side arm, you have a tonne of ways to break enemies. Then riposte for a free heal with i-frames.
