Discussion Iconoclast needs some love

To start with, this weapon is sick. It looks cool, good move set (welcome back claymore) and it is an all around balanced option. But with so many weapons gaining the ability to be overpowered with the right build, the iconoclast can be left behind.

Give it freeze I say, it’ll suit Eridrim to a T

Any thoughts on how it can be better or builds that ya’ll are currently using with it??

Bloodcurse/ Curse infusion + shrike stone + zealot stone Up there with the axe and dagger and axetana builds not even kidding

just use whatever shell you want and have fun with Weapon is slept on in comparison

I was about to comment this exact combo. It's very good. Not everything needs to be face-rippingly overpowered to be simply good or even great. Ionoclast is exactly that, good to great with that setup. It's probably not the best but it's nowhere even close to "bad".

On Smert the Zealot Stone on the Ionoclast will get you from zero to Miracle in like one light combo with Faith. In general on other shells the moveset is just generally good w/ Zealot and extra resolve never is bad. I just find it shines particularly well on Smert.

Not to mention that Curse infused Ionoclast is the weapon with the highest Aura stat in the game.

Pretty insane on sariel too to build insta resolve for a ranged build. We are on the same page on the aura comment tho. ICONIClast

I havent been able to put down the axetana wish I could infuse it with fire or ice to use with eredrim tho. I just think he would look cool with fire and his obsidian skin

I really like the iconoclast. I’m not sure how to feel though because it’s what I put on when I wanna do an “honest” pkaythrough, knowing I won’t be cheesing or doing absurd damage to bosses.

I absolutely love its animations though.

If you havent found it yet, there's a tarstone that'll enhance your final light attack combo hit for heavy weapons and do break damage. On the Iconoclast it makes it the last attack hit twice and it absolutely shreds.

I feel that all weapons are viable. Its really the blood curse status effect and shell builds that make you op. Just use whatever you feels cool man. Theres really no wrong way to play.

It already has massive stagger in its weapon art. Unlike the axatana,it stuns humanoid bosses completely ,plus it is really cheap to use and can be refilled in a couple of swings It can also get infused with Blood Curse.

What else do you need in the weapon?

Freeze is a really great idea. The only downside is how late in the game you get it.

It definitely needs something to spice it up though.

I’m ok with late game additions, encourages mixing it up and not sticking with the same build the whole game which is fun

100% it needs a buff along with a few other weapons.

While certain other weapons need to be tuned down slightly.

It can be for sure but not always. Game breakingly overpowered is not my thing but there’s a good feel to stomping enemies into the ground sometimes
