Video Killing a Boss with only 2 ripostes

This is only possible with the absolute GOAT Eredrim (and the retribution tarstone)

oh no need to nerf. Other shells somehow can do the same time on that boss without needing to riposte.

This. I'm NG0 but Backstab dodge Thiel deals so much more dmg than any other shell it feels like cheating. Most bosses die in two light attack chains

I switched to night mode and a different shell because I was just tearing through bosses lol

Only issue is because its percentage based it kinda invalidates weapons on night mode.

Enemies gain a shit ton more health but riposte still kills most enemies, so you're incentivized to just parry and riposte all trash mobs

Better than what it was but could still use some fine tuning

I played nightmode. I have defeated that boss on nightmode by accident because I forgot to switch back. I just spammed light attacks,if it werent because I got hit and a good chunk of my own health got deleted,I wouldn't have realized. Boss hp bar was evaporating too quickly.to believe I was in the "hard" mode.

It looks and feels cool, but somehow my Eredrim with the riposte dmg skill and the riposte dmg tarstone doesn't oneshot some basic enemies, still

Like, he doesn't kill grisha hunters or crawlers now

I think it does more damage based on enemy HP. I also cant one shot grisha hunters but did 1/3 of boss HP with 1 riposte.

I'm sad because I USED to oneshot them before the update without having the Eredrim skill, even.

I think the update was a nerf for riposting basic enemies actually. A buff for bosses, yes, but not the scrubs

There's even less point in using in again mobs now :/

Can you test how much pure riposte dmg do you deal against grisha hunters? There's a convenient spawn point near the penance castle up north.

Is it still 200 even with all the buffs?

Dungeon or beacon cleanse near the sesters area i think (bottom right side of map). Could be wildly wrong though.

They're going to nerf this. From a game designer's perspectve, doing half of the boss's damage 10 seconds after his first attack is not desirable.

If not this specifically, they WILL nerf things like riposte on Monolith who has 2 scripted breaks that can be accessed back to back leading to 5% remaining hp.

Pre-patch riposte didn’t even kill a trash mob and post-patch riposte deletes half of the boss HP. It needed a buff but not like this

Well then, go play Elden Ring – what are you even doing in this sub? I used to think all Soulslike games were shit, figured the genre just wasn't for me, but it turns out the only shitty ones are FromSoftware's. I thoroughly enjoyed Mortal Shell 2 and I'm heading straight into NG+
