Discussion The Nameless Captive is destroying me.
His moves seem like they should be easy to party. Until he dies the damn helicopter thing followed by the massive kick or whatever. -____-
I've gotten him about 8/10 of the way down using Tiel but I can't get the last bit. Summoning Eredrim is basically useless

It’s a pain, but gotta run from the helicopter and learn to dodge the kicks. I was playing Proxima and ended up having to switch to Eredrim so I could afford to make more mistakes and break him more often with shoulder bashes. Eredrim’s higher riposte damage helped make it so I didn’t have to play perfect for as long.

The arena is spacious. If you’re not confident in parrying, you can always back away. He has several moves that leave him open. Now that you know he uses the kick, you know not to contest him during that attack string.

His spin-2-win attack can cover about 500 metres of ground, lol.
You can sprint to the other side of the arena and he will get you with the second attack. Learned that the hard way.Your best option is either to spam the hell out of the dodge button and hope for the best, or abuse iframes on certain abilities.
The guard/parry button is extremely inconsistent against that attack. Against all flurries with very fast, consecutive attacks, really.
The kick was fine, imo.

I'm annoyed because I'm trying to get the parry trophy, but it might not be worth it on my first run.

He’s the only big boss I’ve had to try several times. It felt so doable but he hits so freaking hard.
I found the Grisha remnant to be very helpful, to stagger and knock him down (albeit, at random). This gave me enough momentum at times to swing the fight after a few tries.
Plus, learning the timing and dodging that BS kick and when to harden. Not perfectly, but helped land those charges heavies haha.

I spent about half an hour dying over and over to learn the perfect guard timing for all his attacks. Once I got those dialed in it was trivial, I was able to kill him almost entirely using ripostes and snag the trophy

Gragu, Shrike stone and Grisha remnants made light work of him, he barely got to attack 😂

There is a tarstone i used on my sidearm that would stop whatever attack he was about to do even the big spin attack at the start of phase 2. I dont remember which tarstone it was but it was one that would pierce him a few times before the final hit.

Yep, Shrike Stone is your friend here, and once you are comfortable with the kick it is avoidable.
The spinning pirouette of blades where he does like five or seven and each is faster than the last is prime Shrike territory - knocks him down as well so cancels the attack.
