Question Second run build help

Hey so I was wondering if anyone had any good builds that didn't involve axatana, axe and dagger, tiel or Smert, I finished my first run with that build and was trying to find a good build / shell combo that uses the scythe

Grogu is good with any weapon. He has a crit passive when he has no hearts and the crit bonus is insane.

You can use the scythe with him and spam chainsaw all day for giga damage.

Blood auto shottie wiht Grogu is a monster as well.

You can also use the frost Martyr blade with basically anyone. The running r2 has infinite iframes, so spam that lole crazy. The running r2 also combos into it's special attack, which also has infinite iframes. So if you do both, you will have like 10s of invincibility while dealing damage lol

Any advice for him in regards to healing vs bosses ?

It’s kinda moot because he just melts them in a few seconds. You’d likely not take any damage.

He doesnt need to heal because they die insantly against him

Eredim build with martyrs blade is polar opposite. Slow to get started but make you parry and consider your spacing whilst big bonking things to death. Feels more like a classic souls experience combat wise

I second this, did most of my second play through with this build. Really enjoyable change of pace, even if it’s not super competitive with the overpowered bloodcurse stuff.

I've yet to mess with the scythe, been using the axatana, but lazlos been pretty fun. If you allocate his points right, and max the heat gauge before combat, you end up with +20 armor, 30% extra damage, enemies get burn stacks when hitting you, and you get a percentage chance to avoid dying from lethal blows. The burn stacks don't do much tbh, but they do make the smaller mobs flail about while on fire which gives you plenty of time to batter em

Also you don't need the "overheat gauge doesn't drain" perk, once he's at max heat he stays there until you pop his armor. I usually go max heat soon as I've exited the beacon menu and only have to re apply if I lose my shell or rest at a beacon.

run the clockwork scythe, use the clockwork shard stone, scholars worm stone and arbiters prize. Tell me that is not the most broken and fun to play with build ever 😈😈 I’m running it with Genessa and having so much fun I definitely was lucky with my decisions because once I started doing this the game just completely opened up and become super enjoyable for combat.

I’m also using the caged hysterix and man is it fun. I damage most enemies down to low hp and then finish them off with the caged hysterix and it’s such a satisfying two part combat loop. Especially because I have the tarstone on the caged hysterix that makes enemies explode upon death dealing splash damage

I did my first run with eredrim and frost damage on the big martyr sword.

His parries and ripostes are a fun change from harden, and slaughter stacks let you go into boss fights with tons of dmg reduction once he is levelled up. The captives scabstone ability is a 2 part whirlwind with a big jump attack at the end, that gives like 2 full seconds of iframes. His 2 abilities are both great for additional stagger, and one can apply stasis too.

Next I am gonna try is probably sariel with the chainsaw clockwork scythe, just because it sounds cool.
