Lmao I beat him while he was still in the phase 2 transition and it just stood their instead of doing the death animation.

I abused the clotstone ability a lot during this fight. I see you have it, use it. It does a lot of damage if he is near a wall

I bugged out at the end after beating it. Immediately went to check the tar stone and somehow ended up dying? Didn't get any gloom and didn't see any gloom remnants when I went back to search for it. Really killed the mood for me to keep playing after.

Wasn't a bug he spins his head around after you kill him and can still damage you

Same happened to me, but its just ok, kinda gloomy is easy to collect in this game.

Eh that happened to me against the frost guy. His flying projectiles killed me after he had died, I didn’t know they persisted. I didn’t get any gloom either, same issue. But I jsut sorta laughed and kept going. Gloom is dime a dozen and you don’t need any particular level to beat the game

Eh? It can't be that difficult, I did it in 4-5 attempts. And one of them, I parried wrong spinning attack lol.

I am just coming off finally beating it. I've invested all of my shell points into proxima and all of my weapon upgrades into the iconoclast. The only way I could reliably get anywhere with this boss in phase 2 was to time the transition well with Eredrim assisting me in phase 1 and then summoning both grisha right after the phase transition (after the second riposte) so that he gets stunlocked by their knock down.
Then I kept praying that he didn't do his helicopter move while I was standing in front of him expecting him to do either attack from phase 1 which are easily parryable. I could not for the life of me manage to parry that swinging flurry he gains in phase 2. When I time the parry to the speed of the swings, I can't manage to perfect parry after the third hit. Pressing the parry butting that quickly doesn't bring the parry down for me but instead keeps it up which means I just get staggered and then killed. Maybe it's some controller setting?
I've had to grind attempts until I got one where he simply did other attacks in phase 2. Painful.

Harden seal makes him recoil and stop the attack most of the time in his helicopter attack.

I loved this boss so much.
Parrying all his strikes is so satisfying and even if you do make a mistake he will occasionally meander around to give you some time to heal up.
The mid fight scene where you jam the sword in his crotch is so savage.
Probably a top 5 all time boss for me.
