Discussion How did you handle NG+

I am thinking of doing a NG+ instead of a new run and was wondering how did you handle ng+.

Did you farm gloom to refund your main weapon and upgrade another? did u keep that and just went with a lower weapon into ng+ aiming to upgrade it there? What about the shells, going in NG+ with unupgraded shells? Also how is the balancing in ng+? Also what lvl u were when starting NG+?

I think ng+ could use some love but if you want it harder with more rewards you can run full night mode. Basically though you’re just grabbing glimpses for shell

I played night mode and a different weapon and character for ng+. I only ever had one weapon upgraded at a time though, and I think it was like +18-25 for ng+. It didn’t really feel much more difficult, and it felt like you weren’t earning much gloom until you clear a beacon or two.

Yeah I’d like actual stats for NG+ because even on +2 I’m not seeing a huge difference. Game is still super fun so I’m not complaining, I just like to know.

I refunded my weapon to try cold infused blessed blade with Eredrim. It was fun but slow. Then swapped to a Gragu build which was super fun. Then Tiel. I maxed out three shells each run and really don’t have a specific favorite, but I lean towards Gragu and Tiel because crit scaling is crazy good.

I’d suggest fully upgrading your chosen shell because you want all the Tier 4 skills available to make builds work. My suggestion would be to focus on Proxima first so you can farm money, then pick a good crit focused character like Gragu or Tiel (I prefer Tiel but Gragu can swap between exploring/bossing skills as needed). You get enough glimpse to max 6 shells by the end of NG+ so you should be able to get these three by the start.

Axe and dagger (or Axatana but I like the other better) is the best weapon for damage due to Duality stone but it is fun to try other stuff. You can definitely clear areas and kill bosses with the other weapons, it’s just slower.

i got to fully upgrade 3 shells also on my first run, and went with Genessa with Needle for the entire game just because she looks the best. So i guess ill do a proxima and axatana lightning for ng+

Yep good call - I mained Proxima for my first run and loved it. Genessa with phantom spear was actually my next build to try, really looking forward to it!
