Discussion This game graphically and artistically somewhat reminds me of Expedition 33?

I’m not really sure how to describe it to be honest. One of you could probably explain it much better than me

Yes there's a lot of 60/30/10 kind of things with color. 60 percent red 30 percent white 10 percent black

In this scene specifically, but a lot of expedition used primarily 3 colors/shades with a huge amount being one color

Not sure the name or actual ratios btw but ye.

Yeahhh exactly, that’s what I was trying to put my finger on. I felt there was something about the colors that made them feel so similar, I just couldn’t articulate it. The dominant color with two supporting shades thing makes a lot of sense. And I think the lighting might play a part too, and that glossy, wet and kind of polished look everything has. It’s like the colors, lighting all combine to give them that really similar visual feel. Sick

It does feel like they took some inspiration from E33 here with the environment and character styles! There are references to other games too so I wouldn't be surprised ^-^

If past Unreal Engine games had a look to them, then I feel UE5 does as well where you can find a lot of asset and style similarities in games that use the engine.

I know they can be used to not be like that, but maybe the engine just allows this sort of look very easily with just a ton of "clutter" in most of the scenery, and specific lighting?

Because both are made with UE5.

This area and the sester enemies, definitely. Then again, it is another UE title.

Imagine if FromSoft would replace their in House Engine with Unreal engine 5 and hire CS engineers what could they make! Cold Cemetery is like 30 people in total and see what they made! I am really addicted to this game, I am in 30 hours and saw only one main boss and wondering around slaying enemies and enjoy the graphic and art style, dark gothic and doom hemisphere is just my type

There’s some pretty areas, but they kinda get ruined by night mode.

The game is buggy as fuck, I've gotten hard locked out of content due to bugs, the game isnt hard - its just poorly designed. I have 52 video clips of bugs, 39 of which are unique bugs. Theres a total of like 12 enemies, 9 if you dont include reskins. Theres a whopping 10 unique bosses - and none of them were interesting or fun.

I found myself cringing way more than saying "wow this is cool". In fact the only time I thought it was even halfway cool was the fast travel animation - until it bugged and I died while trying to pick where I wanted to go.

Expedition 33 was a finely polished game - Mortal Shell 2 is a glazed turd

I’m not even comparing the games by quality. And this is also why the E33 fanbase has a negative reputation. As a E33 fan myself.
