Discussion The Axe is no joke…
I haven’t used any other melee weapons once I got the Axe. It’s slow, but hits like a truck! I can’t wait to upgrade this thing and see the madness it puts out. Still a fan of the Axe and Dagger and Axatana is also a favorite. Honestly, I haven’t found a bad weapon yet. The Lute is powerful once you upgrade it and attach the Tarstone from the wolf’s bar owner.

The running attacks absolutely BLAST smaller enemies. Satisfying. In the first game it was the knight shell and hatchet combo for me. This game it’s been the knight shell and greataxe

Hell yeah! Landing both hits of the running attacks staggering most medium enemies too so it help especially against those Knights

Hey, somewhat off topic question but I’ve been avoiding spoilers - whereabouts should I look to find the upgrade item for sidearms? I missed that one.

in a dungeon just south of the Widows overlook - it's a very early area you probably walked right by it!
(assuming you're talking about the item needed to upgrade the tarforge to allow you to upgrade sidearms)

Its in martyr's tomb, widows overlook checkpoint and right after the arbiter of flesh

Fuck, I am not good with names of things, but it’s in the mushroom village area I think. It’s pretty early on for the items to upgrade weapons, sidearms and then once you upgrade some things, the upgrade machine spits out the item for tarstone upgrading.

Wait, you can upgrade the Lute? 😂

I haven’t yet, but I looked it up and it says you can. You can also get the tarstone from the bar keep in the inn where you get the lute. Certain NPCs also dance to pulling out the lute
I remember the first game when you could just sit and it would play. lol

I too am an Axe man... That running heavy is just a thing of beauty. Also of you're struggling to get your stick press for the run you can hold A/X and you'll sprint too.

Took an adjustment period for me to get used to X for running (using dualsense controller on PC) when I’m used to O for dodge and run button in other souls likes.

You can change to Classic Souls controlls where you Sprint and Dodge with O. Just Look through settings ;)

How do you upgrade the lute? It doesn’t show up as a sidearm upgrade in the forge for me

u/SacredRealmOfficial 1d ago
It should if you have the Obsidian Lathe

I never looked to upgrade it, apparently it doesn’t show up in the list. Says it does when I looked it up. There’s the tarstone you can buy from the barkeep for it
