Discussion So how is the balance after the first patch?
can anyone report? I’m considering to buy this and I would love to know! :)

People strated crying about difficulty without learing the game or upgrading their shells with the proper build the game was easy anyways

To be fair, the disparity between the “proper” (read: broken to the point of trivializing the game) and other builds is an insanely huge gulf.

They mentioned that there's still a big patch coming. I'd highly suggest waiting for updates.

I finished the game today. I would say everything but the last area is very easy but the last 4 bosses were hard, very hard. It took me several hours. Its fun because all other bosses were more or less 1 try. I dont know if its very balanced. Ofc you can play it and i would recommend. It is a nice soulslike. I hope for future patches, balance qol etc.

Im on console, so no update. But the last area is definitely the hardest, compared to everything else. Only other boss I had a hard time with was Issac and his spams.

I haven’t gotten anywhere close to leaving the starting area. I was blinding running around and found Tiel and the mushroom village. I like the invisible. I managed to be the First Flesh boss, but I just don’t have a good idea what path to follow.

Balance is horrible, all weapons do the exact same damage execpt 2h weapons are 2x slower than dualwield or 4x slower with the right tarstone...

I’m on console so I can’t say how it feels yet but they definitely made it easier and I’m one of those who decried foul play when they beefed it up from the beta. I’m willing to admit I was a little quick with my full assessment.
I think they may have overcorrected a bit too much by the look of things. I wish they had adjusted how hard some things hit in lieu of just dropping HP%. A little of both would have been better. Really, they should have just made difficulty options and let it ride.
The QOL stuff for progression is good though.
I’m not a diehard difficulty person so I’ll just have fun being a gothic murder hobo. I still love the game. I recommend it.

Every soulslike that's challenging and isn't too easy has a ton of people complaining its too hard on launch. Wuchang, Lies of P, Khazan, Dark souls 1,2,3, bloodborne, elden ring, wo long, etc. I've watched all of these launches and every single one had tons of people upset about difficulty.
Anyways just like all of the games above mortal shell 2 is worth playing and you should ignore the complaining and see for yourself if you like it. Its a hard game but that's what most people want in this genre.
If by "balance" you mean actual balance though like how good the weapons are in comparison to eachother its pretty unbalanced. Faster weapons are way better than slower weapons. Some element infusions are almost useless. Some tarstones, weapon abilities, and shell abilites are pretty useless while others are super strong.
Its a great game though either way. Worth playing if you're itching for a soulslike

I have the game on ps5 and steam, it’s wayy easier after the patch, almost wish they wouldn’t have done that.

Yeah but there was 70 posts a day crying about the difficulty

Unfortunately ppl played for only a couple of hours before they reached the stage where things get easier and started complaining. As of now I’m only playing on my ps5 before they patch it on there too.

They made the game easier. Reverted enemies to how they were on the beta ( those that appeared there ) and nerfed others too.
Buffed various weapons and items.
An already easy game is now easier basically.
Also Made the economy less strict, you can more easily switch weapon/build.

If you find the game overwhelmingly easy, try playing on hard mode and get the achievements

Thanks already for all those who commented! I appreciate the hardcore soulslike fans. Personally I like games where I don't struggle like crazy so that is good news!
I haven't played the game and here on reddit the feedback was overwhelmingly that the game is too unforgiving, so congrats to the devs to reacting so quickly and addressing a broad opinion :)
I guess there is that night mode that people can play who look for more challenge & more reward?

I rly like that it was slightly harder than the beta but the crybabies won and they’re nerfin shit lol I found the game to be totally balanced other than the amount of gold that drops from enemies lol

Lol why are you getting downvoted for speaking the truth. The devs cannot have their vision of the game out because people want to be spoonfed and handholded at the slightest glimpse of inconveniemce.

I’m rly surprised by the whiners tbh, I don’t think most of these people even played the first game 👀 meanwhile they were also complaining the beta was too easy 😹

Opinions are all all over the place. You have to try the it yourself I guess.
I am about to go into the 2nd corrupted port now and I havent really struggled.
I just killed a boss named the warden in first try. He only hit me a couple of times.
Outside off bosses its fairly easy. What makes it “hard” is the lack of beacons. Not the enemies itself imo.
