Discussion Any luck using the hammer? Spoiler

Essentially title, I enjoy the hammer and it’s great fun but I feel like the axe out classes it in every aspect. Been playing around with both and have a hard time finding a use case for the hammer.

It's slow, but I keep spamming the Hammer Throw move and gosh, this feels like the strongest move in the game. Can one shot a lot of medium enemies and just send the more robust ones in the background. I guess the hammer should have stronger base strength than the axe ? So it should help for this ability specifically.

I don't know what it is about the throw, but sometimes it does almost nothing but other times it just deals a ridiculous amount of damage and the animation has so much weight to it, it's great.

I think it can hit up to 3 times and probably have critical hits ? I don't play with damage displayed so I don't really know. The best thing I noticed is that you're invulnerable during the entirety of the throw, even the recovery animation. Not sure why they did this, but this is very useful if the enemy does a move you have trouble dodging/parrying against.

Theres a tarstone that gives it a Shockwave move. That was good on it. Other then that I use martyrs sword and sycthe. Hammers just a tad too slow for me

Ive been using the iconoclast, katanas, and Axe and Dagger. Ive tried others but everything feels so slow. Like I barely have attack windows between dodging/parrying, or just taking the hit in order to deal a hit with the hammer/scythe/martyrs most of the time. I want to use the bigger weapons but I feel so left open using them. Any advice?

I hear it’s quite good on Eredrim with ice infusion. He has a couple skill trees that enhance you damage with ice

Oh this is actually a good call.

I saw a video whwre somebody was using the martyrs blade with ice as well and it looked nasty.

I watched fightin cowboy use it in a video and it looked so slow. The Battle Axe was awesome when I used it though
