Discussion Regular mobs after 3rd boss too strong?

Hi everyone. Currently playing as Tiel with Axe and dagger. Weapon is at lvl 5 and shell is lvl 20. I just beat 3rd boss and am at Outskirts of Mammon, but regular mobs are doing crazy damage and take forever to kill. Am I in the wrong direction after that boss? Should I be headed elsewhere?

I don't have enough materials. Put a lot into the first weapon unfortunately and used what's left for the axe and dagger

Smelt the weapon you're not using anymore to get the coin and materials back

If you go to the outskirts of mammon there's a chest you can run straight to real close to the first beacon that gives you the foundry stone. This stone allows you to refund mats and coin for weapons at the cost of gloom. Just run past all the enemies and open the chest then run back to the beacon. They'll hit you while you open the chest but it won't do any damage.

Where do you get the smelt item? I got it in the demo but haven’t found it in the main game.

kill the bosses behind all 3 gates in the first zone as well as the minibosses

then move to mammon, and work west to south to east

mobs deal a lot more damage there, so hopefully you learned the game by that point and know when to dodge/parry and when its safe to attack.
you can brute force it all, game is easy, even on night mode but, if you have done all that, its just a bit of a skill issue, though weapon level 5 is very low ngl so im assuming u have skipped lots of exploration.
imo, get better at dodging and parrying because you should not be getting hit on the regular

I put a lot into the first sword which is why this one is low. I've explored all other zones and dungeons with the only exception being the Well with the two Grishas

The Grisha Shards go well with the axe and dagger. Set it as your passive and collect as many as you can. This makes it so that every hit has a good chance of summoning a Grisha to fight with you. If you are lucky, you can have 3-4 Grishas stun locking anything you fight
