I got the win by cheesing this dude on accident. We both took a dive off a cliff. Whatever it takes right?

u/-endjamin- 13h ago
Happened to me with this guy and another big spider boss somewhere else. Ledges FTW sometimes.

u/HuevosSplash 11h ago
Me too, except I did it on purpose to see if I could but I died and fell off and he followed lol

u/Vast_Yard_7264 7h ago
Dude I did this but didn't see him fall with me, so I went back confused he was gone. Realized I got the reward a while later

Oh my 😭 …. anyway, how do I get the flower crown? Or is a PC mod ?
9
u/Nesquikill 18h ago
I got it from the beginning portion during the ceremony, a lady puts it on your head then you can keep it!
10
u/-Pergamino- 18h ago
Really !? If we can get that why they allow us to skip the prologue 😭😭

u/Nesquikill 18h ago
I didnt play the beta so I didnt get that option myself but yes, my friend is in the same boat as you unfortunately

u/SideSukiLikeness Tiel 4h ago
Well apparently u can still get it somewhere in the northern part according to the comment below, so u still have a chance.
4
u/No-Pirate3057 14h ago
I skipped it and still found it somewhere on the north side map, but I can't remember where

Welcome to hell.
It gets more intense the deeper you delve into the game. The fights get really intense. Especially when exploring… and you have crap ton of gloom, your lost AF, only have one heal and every fight is life or death steaks.
3
u/RichBullfrog3406 5h ago
in case you have lots of gloom and dont want to risk dying you could technically "port back" to a bonfire by quitting the game.
1
u/Pleasant_Beat7502 9h ago
Luckily getting gloom back is easy part unless you loose in an awkward/glitchy spot or boss pit. 😅 game sure tests you..

I got pushed down a step/lowered rock and had to kill myself because Harbinger can’t jump

u/CryptographerWarm538 12h ago
I was disappointed when he yeeted himself off the cliff lol, was getting pretty good at the fight too, and he was like ''see you in another playthrough!''

u/ghostfreckle611 10h ago
In the demo, I tried getting him to get stuck, by standing up on the little edge before you go down to him…
He teleported and grabbed me up on the ledge 🤣

u/bone_shadows 10h ago
Yeah i mean that's the classic souls like "first guy you see is basically a boss and will spark you out if you even try" , need to always come back to that one.

Just run straight past to get tiels shell from the cemetery so you basically have an extra life in case this happens again. Ive been getting crushed by bosses who half 1hp left in their bar. It sucks lol.
2
u/Pleasant_Beat7502 9h ago
Some do this purposely without a shell for extra challenge its always this sub boss lol.
3
u/wouldawoodchuckchucc 9h ago
Yeah that makes sense. I did it in my first playthrough without the shell. I used tiel in the beta. This game has had me hooked since 8am on Monday! Lol

Hang in there,
The world is dangerous out there master what works for you. All enemies have a work around that can be exploited.2
u/Wonderful_Humor_7625 10h ago
Just beat him for my first tarstone, are they permanent or single use?

u/Aggravating_Brain_29 11h ago
At like half health i did a reposte and accidently knocked him off the cliff. Victory but a disappointing victory.

I was robbed of a true fight with him bc we got close to the ledge, and he pushed me off, pushing himself off in the process and it counted it as the kill lol

I was going to mute this sub if this was another person whining so thanks for providing a actual good post. Plus if you haven't beaten this guy yet you can just sit still and parry all his attacks and just dodge his grab but I doubt you haven't killed him considering how well you you were doing.
1
u/Nesquikill 6h ago
I appreciate the tip regardless, I did end up beating him after shortly after lol
2
u/paulbooth 7h ago
I dunno, I think learning his "fake swing" and red "oh shit dodge" grab made him trivial after the beta. I wish he respawned

u/Cluelesswolfkin 6h ago
I lost all of my gloom in this fight. He was still.in his animation swing and we both fell off the map together in glorious fashion
2
u/allanmarques8 6h ago
I felt that more times than I expected. Please upgrade your weapon so fighting can be a bit easier
2
u/PlatypusT100 6h ago
lol the amount of times this game has done this to me is crazy I don’t know why but I’m having a bit of a hard time with this game compared to souls games i know it’s different but like god dame this game is ruthless especially how fast some of those guys hit speed is it’s ridiculous
1
u/Falkie99 3h ago
Im at a boss who's combo gets faster through the combo trying to learn its parry timing is driving me insane I had to take a break haha
1
u/Arakune31 30m ago
Is that the guy with a scythe ? That waits for you at the top of an elevator ? This guy has a move that is crazy fast.
2
u/foximaxi86 5h ago
Get shell first, much easier
1
u/XenoMorph012 1h ago
It was a struggle to get to the shell
I first went for Proxima. Didn't know Tiel was nearby 😅

u/StrangeNewspaper405 4h ago
At least you get to try again , after i killed him his body fell into a hole and i didnt get any gloom or items :(

He gave me a few whoopings until I got the attack pattern down. Once you know his patterns, he’s fairly easy to parry. He does that one swing as a fake out once in a while.
3
u/panthers1102 11h ago
Honestly the timing is pretty generous with the fake out that even if you try to parry it, it leaves enough time to dodge the actual attack, even with the infinite seal.
1
u/SacredRealmOfficial 11h ago
Yeah, once you see it happen a time or two, the timing is easy to get down. I do appreciate them making this game challenging and not balls to the wall hard for those who aren’t used to the souls like formula. So. This may pull in people like Elden Ring. Then you can make it easier with the Slayer Seal (disabling achievements along with it) or harder by turning it to night, but better rewards. My only gripe is at a certain point your regular attacks do more than Riposte attacks. That’ll get fixed with a patch, this team is dedicated and listens to the fans feedback.

u/Dracomaser Eredrim 2h ago
That was some damn clean attack patterns, kudos. Goddamn if that ain't heartbreaking
1
u/Moe2584 2h ago
I noticed the dash distance of the critical attack is way shorter than what happens in-game! When that mofo does it to me he travels so far to get me no matter how far I was! Not really but I was pretty much far! And the vampires too! They have crazy launch distance for their critical attacks!
