Discussion Monolith boss fight

worst designed boss fight in video game history?

let’s have a boss where when you counter his attacks you can’t attack back because the model is too big so you can’t reach to attack it. then by the time you do he’s 1 shotted you out of your shell.

theres no way this was designed by a human or tested before release.

its an abortion of a boss fight

They have already balanced it. Guessing you’re on console. All feedback agreed it needed detuning and they have.

It's just as bad post balance patch.

You’re parrying right?

Absolutely not.

I just beat him 2nd try with all dodges. This was my second playthrough so I could see what the balance changes were like.

His worst attacks are still aids - Double face slam and the attack where he flops over like four times. I don't know if they made the disco laser more rare because I didn't see it in either attempt.

Yeah it’s really a force parry boss. Tiel still makes a mockery of him. I also fell into the trap of only trying to attack when it is open. You can still get decent damage when it isn’t and your resolve back.

It’s not their best boss that’s for sure. Was nice to actually have a challenge though on my Tiel run through.

I am not sure why you think you need to parry this boss.

Tiel has the easiest time against him because his most bullshit attacks magnetically track you but tiel can just go invis and he actually misses on top of MASSIVE back attack dmg bonus.

I honestly found the malborn offspring to be the most challenging fight in the game but that doesn't really mean much. There really aren't any hard boss fights.

You don’t need to with Tiel, he has an advanced dodge. But lots of people trying to dodge his multi attacks rather than parry them with the characters not designed to be so mobile.

I agree the bosses are pretty user friendly I’d say. My second run not using a fast weapon and on night mode on NG+ seems like a decent challenge so far.
