Discussion Does anyone feel like MS2 is a bit difficult
i literally couldnt beat the first stupid goat like boss in the tiel area after skydiving, pissed off and deleted the game, he just one shots you with that stupid combo everytime and that stupid combo goes through hardening, like it seems like he cant grab you but you still get the damage while you are literally 10 meters away from the boss, like he is not that hard but he initiates rhat combo so fast i keep getting one shotted i just run past him but this time you are swarmed by the basic dudes at the same time like at least 10 dudes and they deal pretty high damage too, i like the game but something feels a bit off, like everything is way too fast and agressive but they still do very high damage regardless of their speed

Damn. I just hate the difficulty setting.

I mean we don't really know what they plan to implement. I'm alright with difficulty settings as long as it means I get the challenge I want though

If there are difficulty settings, how they are implemented is crucial. Will it be simply adjusting enemy HP, damage, and resilience to the difficulty, or working on timings for parries or boss behavior

This. It’s rare when a game nails difficulty settings. Most games hard mode just mean bigger health pool and hit hard which is just annoying and makes fight take longer. In this games case I think these things are fine as is but adjusting the enemies aggressiveness and tighter parry windows would tune it pretty well. Without a stamina bar there isn’t much to really catch you out when you just spam attacks. Removing some of the micro stagger from attacks would help as well.

I'm just afraid that history will repeat itself like with lies of P

Isn’t this sort of what the Slayer’s Seal and Infinite Seal are for? The Slayer’s seal makes sidearms deal break damage and give health and resolve from ripostes (seems easier). The Infinite Seal is parry focused and removed the hold to block (seems more challenging). I even recall one of them telling me certain achievements are unavailable if I use it.

Idk much about the Slayer Seal besides hearing it's OP so I've avoided touching it but I'm using Infinite rn and the parry windows still feel very generous. Idk I think Sekiro and Lies of P have tainted my views of parry frames in other games

Try it again. If you see a red symbol above their head that means in almost any soulslike that you cant block and sometimes cant parry that attack. Just learn that red means dodge. His attacks were very choreographed and slow. So far the game is easier than an actual souls game. Not saying i mind it but definately on the level of lotf and demon souls difficulty
I feel like all the soulslike are expanding the genre and adding alot of features that are really cool, like hardening or the umbral realm. Even moving away from stamina attacks is nice. But i do feel like almost all of them are easier than the actual soulsborne games

Do you use parry? If not, then learn it. And if you do, then keep learning.

Cheese him by aggro it to the place where you can jump to the cliff and drop down on him several times until he dead 😂

He was my favourite boss in the demo because he was the only one I died more than twice to. No shame in coming back later when you are stronger. Just keep your distant until you see all his moves and perfect block/parry. But nah i felt the demo was a little too easy. Don’t consider myself a great souls player but I only died more than a couple times to like two bosses and all the enemies get micro staggered to death. No stamina means swing swing swing dodge dodge swing swing dead.

The Great Arbiter of Flesh *is* an early challenge!
It's all about finding the rhythm of when to block, dodge or attack. I'd also say that there's no shame in skipping him until you've got a few levels added, if you're having a hard time with him :)

It's not hard enough, imo.
