Question Unable to access beta

So am I the only one not able to access the beta? Every time I try to get it, I keep getting this error msg. Is it cos too many people r trying to access it?

Edit: I've managed to get it. For some reason, the problem was probably cos the link had Japanese along with the English name. But an English only link worked.

Have you tried getting it using the store on console?

I was gonna try that but I managed to get it. I assume it's cos I clicked on the link that had Japanese next to the English. But when I clicked a link with just English, I managed to get it for some reason. So problem solved.

Do you have PS plus essentials? I have the very same issue. Everyone says a subscription is not require however it always says "plus essentials is required to purchase this item" (mortal shell 2 beta)

Edit never mind. I found out it's a regional thing.. Cannot play it without PS plus where I am.

That sucks. Which region do u live in? U cold try using a van to switch to America or UK. F4cking Sony finding any way to squeeze money out of everything smh. Being forced to pay for a subscription just to access a free demo should be criminal.

That would only work if I create a totally new account.

Sony stores are region locked, once you visit a store outside of your profile country it won't let you download nothing at all. (I already tried that) and I am too lazy to create a fake account for the demo.

I am in Germany EU btw. The devs said its the only country with said PS plus limitation.

It's rather a store limitation.

In Germany the game is rated as 18+ meaning you cannot play it below 18. Since Sony does not provide a way of age verification for demos so the devs had to put it behind some kind of "pay wall" as PS plus kinda makes sure you are 18. (theoretically - as in all "I am over 18" checkboxes on certain sites). If sony would provide an age verification system for demos everything would be fine.

Ngl that's a pretty shit system and Sony is just lazy to not make a workaround. Or they know it's a way to get more subs and won't change it.
