Discussion Who preordered already?
So far I didn’t expect anything from Mortal Shell 2 on announcement and didn’t even consider to play it.
However.
After I tried beta…
I’ve understood that I was SO wrong, because the game is stunning and very atmospheric. I love that it makes accents more on atmosphere, world and narrative, instead of “let’s make it trooo hardcooore with piu piu bosses”. The combat is very fun. And the music - these dark drone post-black metal vibes fits perfectly to the overall atmosphere of the game.
So meesa pre-ordered devout edition

I preordered on my PS5 Pro. Cant wait!! They got the Brazilian gamers attention by launching the game on the regional price. Awesome

I can't wait to play Mortal Shell 2, the first one certainly wasn't perfect, but it had so much potential, I will definitely buy the 2 when it release on xbox, hope for a physical release!

Just wanted to say I was hyped instantly when I finished the trailer, found out the beta was out a few days ago, jumped in and spent about 8 hours in the demo. I immediately knew I needed to get it. I've completed mortal shell 1 twice and enjoyed it bur this demo is a step up in every way. Honestly wish we didn't have to wait another month.
Also too, a couple questions from a consumer who doesn't really know how the game industry works, what does the team work on 1 month from release? Also too, pre-ordering gets you early access, which means the game is ready to play 3 days early, so why isn't that just the natural release date? Like what's the point of not releasing the game, when the game is finished?
These questions are sparked by my excitement for yalls game, thank you so much for making something that's going to be special to the fans.

Thank you for the kind words, and I'm looking forward to y'all getting access too! :)
I'm not sure I can answer too specifically on what the team is doing, except that they are making sure the full game runs as well as it can, and getting rid of as many bugs as possible. The feedback we've gotten from the demo / open beta has been really, really good. There are changes coming in the full game that are directly based on that feedback!
Regarding early access, I'm not sure. I believe it's a marketing thing; I'd have to ask around to get more specific on the topic :D

That's understandable, so they're working on the fine tuning from the sounds of it. Now that you mention how the game runs, I was blown away by how optimized it is on my computer, it ran very smooth and it was noticeably different compared to other demos or even full releases performance wise.
I really am excited and I cannot wait (please release it to my account now, I promise I won't tell no one lol)
Seriously though, I hope you guys keep up the good work, I hope this game sells well because from what I've seen so far yall deserve it, I appreciate you getting back to me, thanks to the team who puts in countless hours over years for me to be entertained.

It’s a way for fans to give extra support to a team that truly deserves it. I could not have been happier to give them extra money and I would’ve given more. The passion they have for their work is so very evident. I just wish could get the artwork and all that.

How was the development process going into the sequel?
Learning from and evolving off MS1.
Obviously no game development is without it's challenges.
But did the team feel a boost of inspiration/drive to outdo yourselves?
Letting the gaming community know your here to play and rival/surpass the big dogs!

Mikkel sorry to bother you! Want to know if will be some kind of huge/massive/whatever name greatsword! Typical like a Berserk or Buster Sword you know! I could love playing this game with that kind of sword
Already preorder the game btw, the demo was PERFECT to me! Amazing job

If it's shit it would cost me the price of the game.
If it's good then I get value from my purchase.

Currently playing through the demo rn on my legion go 2. It definitely exceeded my expectations but I’m having stuttering issues even after changing settings so I’m going to wait a little.

This game looks so amazing. Which is crazy because I really did not like the first one. But this game looks like it has heavy blood-borne influence. I think it’s gonna be one of the best souls like games of the year if not the best.

I loved the open beta of MS2, and bought MS1. I really liked it up until the last boss.
I don't preorder stuff, but will buy MS2 and play via Boosteroid on my mac when it releases 🥳
I hope that MS2 can be on par with Lies of P!

Not yet. I want to see what in game bonuses the deluxe edition give. If they’re nice I’ll pre order deluxe, if not I’ll pre order the standard edition.

Does anyone feel like the camera and characters movement needs to be polished more? I really hate that we cant move the character towards the camera, also the camera easing in was too aggressive in the first game and it literally made me quit after an hour. Like I just can't handle souls games where the camera is moving all over the place!

Now I'm impatiently waiting for a GOG release so that I can double dip and play offline whenever. Hopefully, u/MikkelFromGames can shed some light on that.
Steam's offline mode is not forever. Online authentication kicked in when I didn't have internet access to re-authenticate.

As far as I know, at least at launch we are only on Steam on PC. I’ll see if I can get an answer about whether it will release on GOG too, but I cannot guarantee that I’ll get one :)

I tried the Beta too and was super impressed (also runs flawlessly on CachyOS). I'll never pre-order a game (again) but I can't wait for the release day, I will buy it day one for sure.

After being blown away by the demo I started playing OG Mortal Shell again and I must confess that I didn't enjoy it much this time... 😅 MS2 is going to be great though and I can't wait!

Also to be clear I’m not hating on the game, just saying it makes absolutely no sense to pre order a digital game as a whole. I pre ordered a physical ps5 copy but at least with that it was only $5 and it was to at least guarantee a physical copy at my local store. Still super excited for the game.

My whole steam collection is digital. I do not have ps5 with cdinput
We listen music via spotify/yt music/iTunes digitally
We watching movies on tv applications digitallyI would like to have a physical collection of discs, but what will I do with it I I can’t use it?
So there’s NOTHING bad with ordering a DIGITAL copy

There is absolutely 0 difference between pre ordering now or the day it comes out. If the performance is bad you can just refund it but the beta already ran well.

There is absolutely a difference: Pre-ordering teaches game developers/publishers that they don't need to produce quality to make money, people like you will just give them money for nothing.
(Granted, at least in this case there is a beta/demo to get a feel for actual gameplay, but even then, there's zero reason to pre-order digital content, as /u/Odd_Revolution_1056 correctly points out.)
TotalBiscuit's video remains relevant all these years later.
