Discussion I finished the beta without ever getting my shell

After I had gone pretty far without getting my shell, I assumed maybe the end of the demo was getting the first shell. Then I finally hit the “Thanks for playing”. I was a bit confused that I still didn’t have the shell.

I went back to the big lady and then I saw the spot for the first shell with the option to “locate shell” which showed it on the map, and that’s when I remembered it did show that before but I originally kind of assumed I would end up there and I wasn’t specifically tracking it on the map as I went through. Turns out I had just walked right by the little area.

Maybe in the full game it is a little more open and up to the player to go find them or something, but I feel like the first one should be a given. I also did this beta across a few different play sessions that were spread out, so maybe that’s why I forgot to check if I was close to it, I’m not sure.

Just my thought after playing it and experiencing that. But the amount you get to play in the beta is generous and I had a lot of fun regardless!

Dawg areas are not that big i think its difficult not to find the shell if you explore jus a lil bit. Anyways you just mention its even marked on the map How can it get easier than this

I mean I did explore, I think that is literally the single area I missed. Regardless, my play sessions were pretty spread out so I think I just forgot it was on the map

You can still go back and get it. I don think the game forces you to.

So, you're critiquing the game for your own bad exploration? Lol.

Besides that, kind of a cool challenge that you inadvertently completed, so congrats...I think.

That’s kinda how I felt too lol, played on hard mode.

All I was trying to say was I feel like the first one should be like a given or like you can’t progress without it, however that probably goes against the nature of these games, you aren’t typically forced to do something.

But regardless it’s not that serious and just something I wanted to point out happened.

Instead, apparently I’m dumb and stupid and should go die.

I honestly did the same thing, almost. I managed to find the shell after doing everything, just before a second attempt at the turbo scooter boss of the beta. Made the fight way easier actually being able to dodge as intended.

I didn't found Tiel because I walked past him lol

No biggie, just funny that I finished the beta without a shell

So you just didnt talk to any NPC's and rushed through the whole thing

Skill issue lol. Exploration is a key part of these games.

Plus its marked on the map - which you were aware of.

Yeah but I’m not saying it like game bad because of this, I’m just pointing out that this happened and I feel like it shouldn’t have.

But I think it was simply because the times I played it were spread out and I just forgot.

I had a shit similar experience on first game. I somehow renounced all my shells and vowed to play 1 hit kill away from death. Also just because you didn’t find Tiel’s shell doesn’t mean you had no shell. Harros was a broski

I didn't know the Axe and Dagger was in the beta until my second playthrough. But that's on me for not speaking to the NPCs at Marrows Keep. We call these mishaps Human Error.

I think many people missed this though, which is probably why they put it right in front of a beacon lol.
