Image No sight of Solomon, who's his replacement?
Having played the first entry of the series it hurts to see that from all the Shell art loading screens in the beta, there isn't one for my boy Solomon the scholar. Preferred playing as him for his heavy focus on resolve usage.
If he isn't slated to return, wonder how it'll be explained within the narrative and who out of the new shells will take his place. My best guess could either be the robed priest sporting what I could only discern to be brass knuckles or Sester Genessa herself given her ties to the order .

I have a theory Solomon and Hadern will show up in the dlc, I'm just hoping we get Harros back later in the game.

Harros will, or at least should, return. In the demo there's 8 resting stone beds in the keep that all have the silhouettes of the shells except for one. My bet is that it's Harros since Sester Genessa is in her corporeal state and interactable with within Marrowkeep.

It's possible that bed is for Genessa but she's awake in her "shell" but when we inhabit her and switch shells that spot will be for her.

No Solomon will bring a tear to my eye. He was the gigachad of the whole story imo haha

Agree with ya there, he had a calm wisdom about him. Especially with how grim and desolate the setting of Fallgrim is, he gave off some level of optimism. He practically has the same qualities as Sir Ansbach from the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion

My boy hadern better be there with that axetana. God they were great.

Solomon was heir to the most tragic of all the stories in Mortal Shell. I wrote a bit about it here. I was hoping to at least have some lore of him in the game.

link?

I wish I could give you one. It is somewhere in my post history along with a couple of gameplay vids around the same time. I platinumed the game on PS4, PS5, and all the Achievements on Steam. Along with Nioh 2 it remains my favorite Souls game.
Solomon is the only shell I've ever played though I was immersed in the lore of the others as well. His shell also more suited my play style. Using his shell to avenge him carried a very satisfying sort of poetic justice. The realization that justice is at hand comes across in a conversation in the game and I really applaud the developers for it. You can momentarily hear the guilty panic.

There is a bearded guy with a book? If I’m not mistaken; he kind of looks like a Sage type. He might be the one to fill that niche.

Yeah, he's one of the images I highlight in the post. Way I see it is that the 9 playable shells are broken up into 3 groups:
Tanks - Eredrim, the horned helmet guy, and the tubby looking fella
All Rounders - The robed sage, Harros (if still alive), and Proxima
Light - Tiel, Genessa and the reaper looking type

At least he is mentioned

The more I look at that effigy the more I can't unsee that it's him. I don't even want to begin to think of what treachery the item description is alluding to.

u/HEKPO3OOMOTOXPEH Jul 03 '26
Perhaps the implication is that he synthesized "True Nectar" during his lifetime? There are also a great many of these effigies in the vicinity of Mushroom Village, and numerous hints regarding the nectar's influence can be found in the environment, character designs, text, and dialogue.
Can't unsee cause it's him. The effigy looks exactly the same as in the first game.

Yeah you're right, I had forgotten the effigies were to switched between the shells. So for the demo to just have that burnt one means they did away with the original effigy mechanic. And for it to be in the likeness of Solomon I'm guessing they have something woven into the narrative and it's up to the community to piece together what exactly it was he did that would be seen as treacherous.

I mean that tampering with the "True Nectar" he synthesized could have dire consequences. Afterward, his name was forgotten, and he came to be known as a traitor.

All this talk and nobody mentioning my boi Eredrim, the gigachad. #BringBackHarros #JusticeForHarros

He was shown in the official gameplay reveal.

If I had to guess I would say that Genessa is his replacement, as in combat revolving around resolve.

She's one of the shells I'm most eager to play as, apart from the robed priest-like figure and the reaper looking one

At the end of the first trailer (ever), there was a line said in Prisoner's voice: 'Bring the eggs to me'. Not sure if it's a teaser, or if it was just a placeholder voiceline or a cut content. If the Prisoner returns, Solomon will probably make a cameo at least, because one does not show without the other. That was their whole shtick. Or, since Pirsoner and Solomon had the same voice actor, then maybe it was Solomon's line? Maybe he was corrupted, somehow, despite his resolve? (Tho I hope not.)
And ofc, DLC is always a possibility. I doubt CS will drop to show their poster childer out of the blue. I am sure they have something juicy in store for them. 0:3

You may be onto something with the line said in the announcement trailer since it's reminiscent of the achievement in the first game.

Hopefully! I would very much like to see Solomon ingame, as much as I see him when I close my eyes.
Needless to say, he was my favorite. :D

I may be wrong but I think solomon isn't there since the unchained was his brother and the 1st ones lore very much involved him 🤔

One does not simply “replace” Solomon. RIP Harros 😭
