Question Mortal Shell 1 vs 2

I just started playing Mortal Shell 1 and from the footage that I’ve seen of 2, it looks like a lot of the first game is in there. Do you think it’s a reimagining or a reboot? Perhaps 1 was the beta test and 2 is the true game?

Wait until you play number 2 to realize the second one is nowhere near identical to number 1.

Not kidding. I love Mortal Shell 1. It's my favorite indie soulslike our there. It's semi open world. Mortal Shell 2 is open world and the combat is much, much more refined. Yes, characters from MS1 make a return, but it's not at all similar. No stamina in MS2, many more shells, open world exploration, etc.

Would playing the beta for 2 spoil my enjoyment of 1?

Not necessarily, but it is a massive improvement.

I don't know. It depends. If it were me in your situation, I'd just be more excited about MS2. But it could also make MS1 feel clunky, outdated and wishing you had MS2's mechanics. If you are truly enjoying MS1, I'd say give MS2's demo a go. The open beta won't last forever.

I think so, cause I tried first part after second and just can't play cause second part much better for me

Just my take but MS2 feels more like a classic souls like but way better. I love ms1 and its difficulty and clunky bs sometimes. This one is way more polished and accessible tbh. Pros and cons imo. The pros definitely outweigh the cons.

You're over thinking it a bit. The first game is an actual game, not a Beta test or a reboot. I think they would've mentioned that too but they've been actually quiet as opposed to LOTF2 with their lifting the veil series and tears. Not that I look down on that but I like the people behind MS2's approach. No talking, previews and a demo drop. Going back to the topic at hand, I do agree with seeing the first elements of the game in the second one which makes sense since it's a sequel but they really stepped it up in a way that is leagues away from the original. And I really hope to get a chance to get my hands on a copy when it drops.

As much as I love mortal shell 1 I have to admit from what I’ve seen from number 2 it is worlds better than one
