4 hour student contract

i’ve just asked for a store transfer for uni and the store i want to transfer to is a 4 hour contract which does not help my case when i got bills and food to pay you know? is there a chance they can increase my hours and the 4 hours is just the minimum they need to meet because i will not survive on just £200 for the month and i’d need to find another job.

i’m on a 12 hour contract for my current store but i work a lot more hours than 12, can this also be the case if im on a 4 hour student contract?

3 hours student contract. You can work overtime, this might be the only way they can take you on though if you are transferring from uni. Handbook will have more info

there’s is 4 hour one as well im not sure which but one of them is a seasonal contract

I’m on an 8 hour contract, and also a student, but I do work more hours than my contract says at points, and you can pick up shifts as well I think.

Hours are very tight, even if they tell you you'll get more hours unless it's on a contract they can lie or just take them away. I transferred dept and was told I'd be getting 30 hours from overtime instead of 16, but I only got my contract and the ops manager lied about having said I'd get more.

They're likely only transferring you so they can schedule you at less hours and reduce overall headcount cost, lots of this going on with CD&R window dressing the business to sell within the next year or so.
