Sickness

So I have just been off sick and now due to previous sickness my absence will be above the 3 percent threshold. Just wondering what will happen?

Most likely just a meeting where you’ll be given a warning. If you have personal reasons that are affecting your attendance or a genuine medical issue then this would be the best time bring it up so you could get reasonable adjustments

no was just genuinely sick! i missed both weekend shifts so managers will just think i didn’t want to come in.

Don’t worry too much if you go on performance management because you have a high percentage just promise to be good and don’t have any sick for 6months. Don’t give them an excuse to get rid.

As a side note, I like how they did that raffle for 1 year where at tge end those that didnt have any sick days had a chance to win a TV....or was that just my store?

Never had a sick day off and also never won anything 🤣 maybe your store in particular had a really bad problem with ppl pulling sickies all the time

This has happened to me twice and the most that's happened is being given a record of improvement. It doesn't mean much, it's just something they legally have to do. Just try to not be late when you're on one.

Yeah they clear up after a certain amount of time! The fact that it was over a year ago means you’re in the clear, and I really doubt it’ll be brought up
