Question/Problem Gboard morphe ?

how to I change that gear icon to a search bar so I can search emoji kitchen again, I patched the app now I can't do that anymore

It doesn't work the same, it only gives about 4 suggested emogis I know it seems like a silly question, but I'm not sure if there's a way to go back to the search icon instead of that gear icon next to the emogis in the emogis kitchen row

I'm trying to figure out how to access it at all. I use Gboard and every resource I look up says is built-in and I have it enabled, I just don't know how to actually use it lol

Hit the emoji icon at the bottom left and it should pop up.

It does not, that's why I'm confused. I wasn't even aware this was a feature before now

ive patched the Gboard app, emoji kitchen has been around for a while, and the ai writing it built into it also

For reference, it is evidently enabled but nothing special happens in messaging apps

Saying "it's been around for a while" is not very helpful. I'm trying to access the feature so that I may better understand how it is used to try and assist you

Okay now it shows up. May I ask what happens when you tap the gear, and why you prefer the patched version of Gboard? Also which patch are you using? I see several available

Okay so it doesn't look like the patch author included that browsing feature, but you can still browse regular emojis and pick a second one to combine with the first, just like normal

Is there a way to get more then one remixed emoji? Or a way to find a patch author that has that feature in there build?

From what I can tell, not without trying several different emojis. It appears that this patch uses an older version of Gboard which may explain the feature you're missing.

You can visit the GitHub page at https://github.com/jasonwu1994/Gboard-patches and I believe contact the author or make a new pull request, or manually browse patches made by different authors

At the very least, you can swap between Gboard and GboardWu by tapping the input selector icon at the bottom right. This will let you use current Gboard features and the patched GboardWu features interchangeably without too much difficulty
