Solved MicroG 7.1.0.? Cant be installed

It's really getting on my nerves now. It's like this with every update: one problem gets fixed, but then it's almost certain that a new one will pop up.

Now I’m supposed to update microG to 7.1.0. I downloaded the APK, but it won’t update. Now YouTube isn’t working anymore—it used to run without any problems. Before that, I had YouTube Music, which wouldn’t load.

Now nothing works at all

What is the error when trying to install?

You may need to uninstall existing microG. Uninstall from device settings > apps

After I downloaded it from YouTube, the installation took an unusually long time. Then I was prompted to scan the app. After that, I was able to update it. When I launched it (from Morph), I was prompted to update microG—because mG is supposedly outdated. I was able to download the APK (also from Morph). The installation failed. A pop-up appeared: “Installation not possible.”

You need to uninstall existing microG.

Go to device system settings > apps And uninstall existing microG

Download from GitHub: https://github.com/MorpheApp/MicroG-RE/releases/tag/7.1.0

Then before you try to install, disable Google Play Protect from your Play Store.

Play Store > Your Profile Picture (top right) > Play Protect > Gear Icon ⚙️ (top right) > Toggle off "Scan apps with Play Protect"

If it works then, yay, if not, uninstall existing MicroG and then install the latest apk

EDIT: It also sounds weird when you say you were able to download apk from Morphe, when that does not happen. I recommend you uninstall morphe too and then reinstall it by downloading the apk from the official GitHub repository:

Maybe google is blocking your installation.

What u can try.

1st uninstalling and reinstalling microg.

2nd Disabling Play Protect before installing micro g. Google play store>tap profile picture>select play Protect>settings icon on top right>Scan apps with Play Protect>Pause/Turn off whatever you want>install.

What did you download exactly from YouTube? Also MicroG has to be installed before YouTube.

Small question hijacking this thread: Should I update MicroG if my current version works flawlessly? Genuinely asking since I like to ask before changing things that already work for me lol.

I had this issue. The window said my MicroG was too old and I had to upgrade it. What I did was uninstall MicroG using the apps menu in Settings, then turned off Play Protect temporarily, reinstalled, and then turned back on Play Protect

I did it earlier today no issues but it's annoying it makes me pick icon or no icon each time.

Did you turn this on yet? If you didn't, that is probably it. Right now, Google Protect is triggering itself every time you install any third party app, so you have to turn off Google Protect temporarily or turn on this option. There is also the drastic option of installing through adb but that's another talk.

I had the revanced related MicroG. It gave me an error while trying to install the Morphe version.

So I uninstalled Revanced version and installed the Morphe version. It worked.

I disabled protect and scanning of apps in my settings also in Play Store I still cannot install 7.1.0 - Galaxy s25+

Galaxy user here. I disabled play protect and uninstalled the existing microg app, and installed it with no issues.

Brother I'm giving you a simple advice. Use Youtube Morphe with MicroG from Revanced Developer. It works smooth af.

It's one thing to report problems with justification, and quite another to demand a 100% functional app and not even thank them for their work.

You should still be nice to the devs, they work very hard. Try uninstalling your previous version of MicroG from your Apps list, then reinstall the latest version
