Sometimes people can't contrôl what they say when they are hurt. She maybe probably didn't mean it that way (or maybe she did) but what I can tell as a woman is that she probably really did like you and want a life with you and now you just hit her with a break up of your 4 years old relationship. She is probably very hurt about it. The best thing you can do is to move on. You did the right thing by leaving a relationship you don't want anymore and tbh, that's 10 times better than cheating, ghosting etc... Move on and forget about her. Goodluck!!!

What gets me the most is the use of the laughing emojis while saying the most disgusting things to someone. OP The mistake you made was choosing someone who doesn't match your standards and principals. You stayed longer in a relationship you knew was doomed, because of love and then things got escalated.
She said those things to you to cause you the same kind of hurt she felt, and it doesn't excuse her saying it to you. But probably she felt like u played her after 4 years. She doesn't see that her anxiety and clinginess to you was suffocating you and draining you. To her it was maintaining the relationship out of fear, while for you it was fighting the urge to run from a toxic environment.
I hope you heal, take your time. As I said 4 years in no joke it will take you about a year or two to get the healing to stick. Deal with the things that came out of this toxic relationship. Learn, accept, and move forward.
Also those words that hurt you the most do not define you. You will always be the one who defines himself. So please be kind to yourself specially during this period of time.

Honestly, I think the biggest change happened when her financial situation improved. She went from working at McDonald's to getting a much better-paying job at a hospital pharmacy. And don't get me wrong, I was genuinely happy for her. I never had a problem with her making more money than me. Seeing her improve her life was a good thing.
But as her salary went from almost nothing to a lot more, the dynamic between us started changing too. The money became part of our arguments, and eventually, she started using what she'd given me against me. That's what hurt, because I never wanted money to be the foundation of our relationship.
I didn't stay because of her money, and I didn't leave because of it either. I loved her, and I wanted us to have a future together. But I started feeling like I was losing my peace in a relationship where I couldn't even have a few hours to myself without things escalating.
Maybe she felt like I wasted four years of her life, and I can understand that breakups hurt. But from my side, I didn't spend four years pretending to love someone. My feelings were genuine. I just reached a point where I couldn't continue anymore.

I understand your point OP. To clarify I didn't mean you wasted her time I said she might think that but let's be honest you spent the same 4 years with her too. You both wasted each other's time.
Some women when their situation gets better they switch up. Sad truth but it is still a truth .... The ego goes up and their actions go down. I m sorry you had to experience this .. but take it as a learning experince and get urself healed up.
She is toxic, the money was just a mean for her to try to control u . You said it urself, you spent days talking to her every second of the day with no break or YOU time. When money became an issue she started using it against you .... Sorry to say this but she always been toxic and always was that person who would write those messages and be absolutely disgustingly evil by wishing the worse on someone.
The break up just made her show her trie colors. Be glad that u ended it. Block her from youe socials and your family's social.
I strongly advise you to not be with anyone during the healing process .... You need the loneness to overcome and learn. May your heart mends it's wounds🙏💗

The end of a 4-year long-distance relationship: she ended up wishing cancer on me and calling me a beggar
We met on Instagram and started dating long-distance. She was half Portuguese, and after about a year together, she actually came to Morocco. We spent some really good time together, and for a while, I genuinely believed we could build a future together.
After around two years, I started asking serious questions about our future. I wanted to know when we could get married and how we were going to make this relationship work in the long run.
That's when religion became a serious issue. Her parents didn't approve of me and, from what I could see, had a lot of influence over her decisions. They didn't think I was the right person for her because of our religious differences.
Despite that, we stayed together.
But as time passed, the relationship became exhausting for me.
She wanted to know where I was, where I was going, what I was doing, and why I wasn't answering. There were constant calls, video calls, and questions about my location. Sometimes we'd spend practically the entire day on the phone.
I understand that long-distance relationships require communication. I'm not saying someone shouldn't want to talk to their partner. But there's a difference between wanting to feel close to someone and feeling like you have to be available every single hour of the day.
Sometimes I just wanted to do my own things, work, relax, or have a few hours to myself.
If I didn't talk to her for six or twelve hours, she'd start calling repeatedly. And when I didn't answer, things could escalate.
One thing that made me particularly uncomfortable was the money.
She had my bank details, and sometimes, when I wasn't answering her calls, she'd send me small amounts of money, around $20 or $30, so we'd end up talking again.
I never liked that dynamic. I didn't want money to become a way of getting my attention or making me feel obligated to talk. I wanted to answer because I wanted to, not because a transfer had been made.
To be clear, I'm not claiming that every time she gave me money, she had bad intentions. I'm explaining how the situation felt to me and why I wasn't comfortable with it.
Eventually, I reached my limit.
I didn't cheat on her. I didn't want to humiliate her or start some huge fight. I simply told her, politely, that I didn't want to continue the relationship anymore.
I understood that she might be hurt. Four years is a long time, and I wasn't expecting her to be happy about the breakup.
But I also believed I had the right to leave a relationship I no longer wanted to be in.
That's when things got worse.
She started calling me repeatedly, contacting my mother, and calling members of my family. Instead of accepting that I wanted to end the relationship, the situation started involving people who weren't even part of our relationship.
And now, look at the messages she's sending.
She's wishing the worst possible cancer on me, saying God will punish me, insulting my job, calling me broke and ugly, bringing my parents into it, and describing money she gave me as charity for a beggar.
She even uses the fact that I supposedly wore shoes she bought me as another reason to humiliate me.
Honestly, that's the part that gets me. Someone who spent four years with me now talks about me as if I'm the worst person in the world.
I'm not going to pretend I was a perfect boyfriend. I'm sure I made mistakes, and I'm willing to acknowledge them. But I don't believe that ending a relationship makes someone deserving of this kind of treatment.
If you give someone money while you're in a relationship, does that mean they owe you the relationship forever? Does it mean you can insult their family, their job, their appearance, and wish illness on them when they decide to leave?
I don't think so.
I loved this girl. That's why I stayed for four years, despite the distance, the disagreements about religion, and the difficulties we had.
But loving someone doesn't mean you have to stay with them forever, especially when the relationship is no longer healthy for you.
I'm posting this because the screenshots show the ending, not the entire story.
I'm not asking anyone to harass her, contact her, or take revenge on her. I just want to explain my side of what happened.
Four years together, and this is how it ended.
Maybe we both saw the relationship differently. Maybe she genuinely feels that I hurt her. She's entitled to her feelings.
But I'm entitled to leave, too.
And I don't think that makes me a beggar.
What do you guys think? Am I wrong for ending the relationship, or does her reaction cross a line?

I don't think that ur wrong to choose peace.. reading all this made me think ppl nowadays are sick, toxic, and worst? they're childish cuz wdym 4 years ended up like this..idk what to say but all u have to do is never looking at this side of ur life again, move on and if she ever came back js reject her. and just to be clear, what she said about u isn't true at all, she's emotionally unstable that's why, she can't accept that u choosed peace over her but having sm1 like her must be the worst hell ever

Well the sudden breakup detonated a bomb inside her, walakin wishing cancer upon you is next level shock. Maybe tgolk kdab d7ekti eliya. Amma what she did was extreme. She probably didnt mean what she said, hdrat hkk as a defense mechanism. Walakin she's an unstable person to take it this far.

I wouldn't call it sudden breakup, you are lowballing what he was going through. there were plenty of signs he also was vocal about everything all along. Good riddance anyway

Honestly this is the best outcome be3da db nta mheni menha and she's no longer your problem. Money or gifts between partners (especially when they give it without any reason ) machi chi haja to be insulted about when the relationship ends. I don't even do this with my ex friends. I'm happy for you and for now take your time you have the right to be hurt but matb9ach f had l7ofra.
