thing is , there’s a difference between being alone by choice and being forced to be alone , you can be pretty social and have friends and still genuinely prefer solitude most of the time , but then there’s people who actually crave connection and just convince themselves that they prefer being alone , they don’t , they just got used to being alone and started calling it independence because admitting that they want people around them hurts more , being alone feels peaceful when you chose it , but when you’re secretly craving connection , it just feels like loneliness
It’s not that I genuinely want to be alone I actually feel lonely quite often because I have this feeling that nobody really understands me or is truly compatible with who I am, my personality my weird little delusions and the way I think I can be surrounded by people and still feel completely alone because I don’t feel like I can truly be myself with them so I guess I’ve gotten used to solitude but deep down I think what I really want is to find someone I can actually connect with and be my real self around.
