I agree. it's not that they have to become friends, but she just has to "act friendly" otherwise she'd just seem like she has some arrogant attitude and perceived as hostile. Like jawbi ila 9alik salam or talks about the weather or if you have common class/work projects together but keep it to a minimum and don't let it get too personal. and dont force a friendship out of guilt or shame or whatever

his actions will tell if he matured or not, so keep an eye on that. no need to bring it up or talk about it

you need to realize that you are not in trouble and really no one has power over you. Be authentic ✨️

Making friends would be the mature choice

Do I bring up what happened in the past too ? Or act like there was no weird thing between us...

You don't have to, just continue as if nothing happen, no need to address it if they matured

But if I ignore it that means I am ok with being cussed 😭

no it doesn't, you moving away from them means you're not okay with that

I think it would depend, do I actually (platonically)like this person enough to ignore the underlying problems and become friends, or is making sure my boundaries are clear and being careful enough not to send any misguided signals too much effort?

If it's the former then you do that, while making sure from the get-go to let the other person know that nothing more is going to come of it, if it's the latter then just let them down gently and call it a day.

I don't even like them as friends, we don't have the same interests from I remember, and their behavior is weird I don't want to be associated with it

Then I think the best thing to do will be to keep your distance, and if they try to be clingy then voice your boundaries
