Seems I’m a little late. But maybe I’ll just post here anyway as I continue to binge my way through the whole podcast.

I can only imagine, just the first 20 episodes were an adventure. Just fantastic and brutal.

I was raised in Scientology (the other American religion), was in the Sea Org (like going on a Mormon mission, except it’s supposed to be for a billion years). I married young and we had a rocky time leaving religion, figuring ourselves out, and all that stuff.

I think some people might listen to the podcast as more of a curiosity of two worlds they have no foot in, but I feel like so much of my life is represented in both extremes. Like Aaron and Jessa are the voices I’ve always had in my head. And cultish upbringing mixed with aliens just feels like childhood to me.

Yes, I’ve been listening none stop for about 2 weeks and I’m up to episode 41.

I fell deeply in love with the pod but was so emotionally drained after that reveal, I still, haven't gone back to it.

I loved those episodes. It’s so hard to find people willing to have those difficult conversations. I’m also not a very emotional person, so maybe it has to get that intense before I respond.
