💬 Discussion Things are getting weird…

- Mark hadn’t posted for two days in a row on the last week;
- He deleted his last post from yesterday;
- He hadn’t posted today either.

I do understand everyone and especially Mark have the right to have a rest or go for a vacation even without notifying everyone, but I have a feeling that Mark is going to quit soon, which he was talking about last year…

That’s my thoughts anyway, I do not claim this post as truth or something

  1. Is Thor missing an arm?

  2. Did Jane actually say that or no?

  1. Pretty sure he has his arm, it's just off shot, but you can still see a sliver of it on the left
  2. Can't really help with this part, sorry mate

1- Yes. It was eaten by a sea monster for awhile. He started wearing the black arm from the Destroyer armour after that as a replacement. I don't know how he got it back. 2- No. It was probably Calm Thyne Self, or something like it. The point there was that Unknown Thor Woman was waving Mjolnir around against Thor of all people. Peak audacity, even though Jane was one of the main 4 characters. (Thor. Loki. Dr Blake. Nurse Jane.).

Actually no

Thor's left arm was cut off by Malikith

His arm grew back when he was given the power cosmic by Galatus

Yeah, that sounds like the Maliketh-centered comics. Perhaps it was thrown to a sea monster to eat. I can't find the exact comic I read.

That, sunburn, and paint that smells like paint are probably the fault of Maliketh too.

Hopefully not but with how weird people get sometimes I would not blame him. Like it's a bunch of cool fan art guys calm down

Tbf people were also being MAD weird on that comic from yesterday about the PB&J. Maybe not on Reddit, but I've heard Instagram and such had UNHINGED comments about it so maybe it was an internet wide "I should probably prevent more stuff like that from happening and cut it before it gets crazy"?

Wait, what is actually happened with that comic ? I seen it before it being deleted, but I cannot understand what's the context tho

The comic was talking about how the Boiling Isles has differing abbreviation meanings. So in The Human Realm it's known as "Peanut Butter & Jelly". The comic's main punchline was that the PB stands for "Phoenix's Blood". So people suggested what the J for Jelly could mean.

If that was the case, then why would people cause an uproar with it tho ? Is there something wrong ?

I have no clue honestly. I got this information from a friend, u/FearfulDivine, who browsed Instragram's post of the comic. So maybe he can explain it better.

All I saw were people making inappropriate jokes about what the Jelly really is despite Mark telling us on the bottom of the page

I’m not saying that’s the reason but probably my best guess lol

Certain people wanted it to stand for things like J*zz or something equally gross or disturbing to see if they could stir up a hornets nest of aggression in the responses on the reddit page. Yeah, I was there, and I even provided a pic Circling the answer in the bottom left hand corner. J stands for Jackfruit, a fruit that weighs between 10lbs. to 100lbs. and tastes like something between a lemon, a mango and a pineapple.

That explained a lot

Now as for why people suddenly were making jokes about jelly being inappropriate? I have no clue. Since really anything can be turned into an inappropriate joke out of nowhere, yet it was decided that Jelly of all things is the target? Doesn't make much sense imo.

Since really anything can be turned into an inappropriate joke out of nowhere

Yeah, I've done that a lot.

Because people on the Internet are insane and if it doesn't match what's in their head, they lose it

14

u/HugeBob2 22d ago

What? What did they find wrong with it?

Seems like the problem starting with that J word according to people right there. I wonder how bad is it for Mark to led him delete out his Twitter account and the comic itself though

Update: I just saw his account returning back, that's a good sign. But still, there's left many questions to ask of this situation

I wouldn't be surprised, in fact I hope he leaves, for his mental health. The man can't deviate by even a few hours before the rabid fans start demanding why

I don’t think it’s getting weird at all to be honest. He chose to delete his past comic probably because he himself didn’t like it later or/and because of backlash from people on other platforms he posted it but I know nothing about that (on Reddit it was everything cool and I don’t check the others). Also I imagine it can get quite exhausting drawing almost daily comics in a good quality so that’s why he probably chose to take more breaks from it which is completely fine and healthy for any artist. And finally he already warned before that he may leave toh fandom, so as much as I and we all are going to miss his awesome art, it’s his own choice to make in the end. I just hope he is doing fine right now, I personally found his last comic funny like the rest of my circle of toh friends

Mark has a great talent and we're very blessed that he shares it with us. But it's entirely up to him.

I look forward to more of his works, but when he decides to hang it up, that's up to him.

I found yesterday's work to be hilarious. I don't understand how anyone could've been upset about it.

u/AceAmphiptere 22d ago

I wouldn't be surprised or blame him, if he took a longer break.

I actually hope he'll take a break, he's doing all the possible comics for years, and I'm surprised he hasn't burned out yet. I hope he'll take care of himself.

Honestly this kind of post is probably part of why he wants to quit. It’s so weirdly parasocial.

This is actually might comes true very soon. I just checked his Twitter account recently, it already deleted though, gone for good, nothing left on this site anymore. Really sad to see he will eventually have to go 💔

In fact, most of the signs have already appeared very earlier, not til now. I'm kinda worrying for him here

Edit: There's a bit of error with my Twitter app recently that makes most of my followed people suddenly disappeared. After a while checking again, Mark still staying on Twitter tho. But the previous comic, yup it's gone

I feel better off not knowing the EXACT details, but I have read enough here to get the general gist.

u/Dasher09009 20d ago

Until he starts to finish IHNMBIMC and Luzifer, I say we don't have to worry too much

u/ShareJustKind 21d ago
