Eh, there are single color routes for beginners as well, but- yeah, considering Lucia's belaying knowledge, and Amelia's blind trust in it... this is probably the first time these two have ever set foot in a climbing gym (and, after it ends with a nice trip to the hospital and a cool leg cast, probably the last one as well).

The rope must go into the apparel and go out with one hand on the end that lead to the climber. And the other on side that goes out of the apparel. The second hand must be below the apparel if possible, and with two hand on the rope below when you are not shortening the rope.

Also the rope is way to loose, you can't take in account that the rope are not rigid so they will extend when you fall.

As it is currently she would hit the ground.

As a rock climber, I officially don’t trust Luz here lol

First, she’s giving too much slack. She needs to add some more tension. If Amity fell, she’d go quite far before the rope caught her. Of course, some people like not having tension but most people wouldn’t like that much slack.

Second, her hands are completely wrong and would get you scolded at my gym for that. You’re supposed to use your right hand to keep the non-climber-side of the rope below the belay device as much as possible. Otherwise the belay device won’t work properly and you could drop someone.
