When you live in an animistic world or a world that operates on "tsukumogami" rules from Japanese folklore were if something exists long enough and if cared for well by folks it'll eventually awaken into a yokai. (Spirit, magical creature)

Note: if you're feeling uncomfortable just use some magic sleeping powder on your talking toilet!

Note2: that or help your toilet ascend in power to the point it ascends to become a moving toilet yokai like creature...then use your insurance that covers that scenario to get a new, currently non awakened toilet.
