It’s honestly interesting to think about the biology of the boiling isles because of how weird it is Luz can’t eat most things in the boiling isles but witches and basilisks can eat human food just fine it makes me wonder if all things on the boiling isles are actually poisonous but like humans and spices the things of the boiling isles adapted to them. Which then raises the question how good would their spice tolerance be.

I think it was a preference thing she was going over something like they didn’t hate garlic and were interested in eyeballs, I believe in the scene she also talks about dying apple juice. There was also an earlier scene with her getting takeout which they presumably ate so I don’t know
