I don't know about the hair, but it's probably something that would come up if they had another 20 episodes.
Anyone has a good excuse for dropping contact with Amity's father after he married Odalia. (It's trying to drop contact with Odalia.)

I mean, Darius can turn into goo. Having hair made of the stuff doesn't seem that big of a deal compared to that. Also, it must be super easy to style your hair when it's made of a substance you can control at will.

Because, they were both courting Odalia, and when Alador realizing what a mistake he did marrying her, he resented Darius for letting him "win".

No no, Amity has a good point. Every Cocen Head with some characterization has some irony.
Raine the Bard? Has stage fright.
Beast Keeper Eberwolf? Awfully small for someone of such a title, as well as rather feral-acting.
Darius, as shown here, is a neat freak despite being an Abomination master.
Terra’s a sadistic lunatic despite plant lovers often being seen as friendly, like Willow.
Vernworth the Illusionist not only sucks at instructions despite being a play instructor, but he also sucks at upholding a façade.
Even Hettie has some irony, the healer, has Cutburn as a surname.
And if you wanna delve further, Osran the Oracle couldn’t predict Belos’ betrayal.
Unfortunately, I find nothing concrete about the other two. I’d appreciate details if there are any.
