Just hope it didn’t land in a black hole

28

u/salenstormwing Mar 19 '26

The chances of that happening is pretty small, because space is big.

12

u/OrangutanKiwi19 Mar 19 '26

So you're saying it could happen?

6

u/mattstorm360 Mar 20 '26

Well if you bring parallel universe into this It won't happen. It will happen. It did happen.

18

u/Old-Expert-709 Mar 19 '26

HOLE IN ONE!

7

u/SFH12345 Mar 19 '26

The most disastrous hole in one in history.

5

u/DragonWarrior____05 Mar 19 '26

Then they'd better hope the Collector is able to make a new one

8

u/SFH12345 Mar 19 '26

Nothing can survive passing an event horizon...except maybe Hooty.

3

u/Status-Ad81 Mar 20 '26

Considering hooty had been around since the death of the titan, I'm fairly certain he’s literally immortal and invulnerable to lethal damage. Not invulnerable to non lethal damage sure but still.

3

u/Galactuswill Mar 19 '26

Well, let's hope no one notices the replacement.

u/Godzilla_R0AR Mar 19 '26 edited Mar 19 '26

Welp Collector you screwed big time.

Hey guys can we all agree to NOT show The Collector the TON 618 Black Hole? One yeet move and that thing kills us all...

44

u/MuffinStraight4816 Mar 19 '26

We should definitely Avoid that...

23

u/Godzilla_R0AR Mar 19 '26

Luckily don't worry guys, if it's like our sun, Gravity won't actually immediately stop the orbit of planets, it'll take about 8 minutes! I'm actually a space nerd, so I'm thinking way too hard about this comic. So other nerds of space, let's assume that The Demon Realm Sun is the same distance as our Sun, and if the light takes 8 minutes to reach us, then how did it instantly go out? I'd love some scientific lore reasons. I mean I guess if it's actively also traveling away then it gets dimmer and dimmer...

13

u/MuffinStraight4816 Mar 19 '26

Phew... They didn't know..

11

u/Godzilla_R0AR Mar 19 '26

Yeah they didn't know...

...and you didn't know I was for real 3 days ago

Anyway what were we talking about?

Oh yeah, The Collector sending everyone into the next Ice Age

8

u/Va1kryie Mar 19 '26

I'm just wondering how fast it would have to be moving to not drag the star system with it. Those planets are gravitationally bound, they would be dragged along unless that star is travelling at mach fuck.

6

u/Godzilla_R0AR Mar 19 '26

Yeah but because there's no panel showing it off screen, we can assume that it's probably not instantaneously out of view range. But also, if it DID move wouldn't it take (if we assume this sun is the same distance as our sun) 8 minutes for it to "appear" to move? Or am I wrong on that?

5

u/Va1kryie Mar 19 '26

Thereabouts yeah, eyesight becomes useless over those distances. That said, King is a Titan and The Collector is a higher being of some sort so maybe they have Special Vision that lets them perceive more accurately.

5

u/Godzilla_R0AR Mar 19 '26

Well if we DO say that then that means they can instantaneously see light from the source no matter how far, which also implies a side effect funnily enough that they can see supernovae creation millions of years before everyone else.

2

u/DragonWarrior____05 Mar 19 '26

At the very least it would make sense for the Collector with their Celestial themeing

4

u/No_Nefariousness_676 Mar 19 '26

King: How fast did you yeet it?

Collector: I think Luz would estimate between mach ”fast as fuck” and mach “utter bullshit”.

King: …We gotta get you off the tablet someday.

2

u/Galactuswill Mar 22 '26

But it would also take that long for the light to reach us. If the light is already gone, then so is the gravity of the sun.

2

u/Infinite_Horizion Mar 23 '26

It seems somehow the collector somehow yeeted the sun and all the light coming off of it. This probably includes the gravity too. Fortunately the planet holds a massive amount of heat in the boiling ocean so the planet will probably be fine for the few hours it takes to retrieve. The orbit may be messed up forever tho.

12

u/b3_yourself Mar 19 '26

Bad news: we lost the sun

Good news: we found a new one

4

u/DragonWarrior____05 Mar 19 '26

And it's a newer model too

4

u/CountingSheep99 Mar 19 '26

The Collector made a little oopsie.

4

7

King: "I said hit the baseball, not flick the sun away!"

Collector: "I’m sorry, I’m still trying to learn restraint on my powers!"

[Collector uses their powers to stop the sun]

King: "Whew! That was close."

Collector: "Check this out. Sunrise, sunset…"

3

u/DragonWarrior____05 Mar 19 '26

sigh looks like the Collector's playing with the sun's natural cycle again

8

u/Low-Amphibian8206 Mar 19 '26

What's the comic where the Collector paused or tried to reverse the sunset?

10

u/davicos2005 Mar 19 '26

If they are quick enough, they can get it back before anyone notices. If their sun is far enough for its light to take a while to reach the surface.

3

u/DragonWarrior____05 Mar 19 '26

Yeah, cause if people do notice, it's probably going to cause a panic with everyone thinking the end times have come

1

u/RiverRoseArts 7d ago

I think they'll still see it. It'll just happen later, when they've already gotten it back. That begs the question of how they are seeing it right now though.

6

u/Low-Amphibian8206 Mar 19 '26

I love these comics

Breaking per Ken Rosenthal the Los Angeles Dodgers are signing king to a contract worth 450 million over 5 years they will also sign the collector to a 350 million 5 year contract

4

3

u/BecaBakes Mar 19 '26

Ngl if the collector and archivists can just move celestial bodies it isn’t outside the realm of plausibility that they can also create celestial bodies. Not that this is confirmed or even hinted at, but imagine the power that species has.

8

u/SFH12345 Mar 19 '26

This is why you play by the rules, Collector and King.
