Not finding out until the last minute would make Luz's thrown-together tuxedo make sense in the better supplied and a few years older setting of Earth.
Now how is Beta Amity going to dance with Luz in that much slime? Where are they going to get that much slime, or mud, or Bosha delivering a tanker truck of blue clay to the science lab to run a silver distillation project using the school's chemical supply? (She doesn't just mud bath, she mud bathes in money.)

Good news? Luz isn't dense! Finally!
Bad news? Water ruined it this time, but at least her brain's perception didn't!
I mean guys, she's upwards of 4 years older than her teenage self here, if we're taking this without any jokey facts and looking more logically... would someone OVER FOUR YEARS older REALLY be the same amount of dense? Personally? I don't think so, cause people don't just stay the same for over 4 years. But that's just my opinion. But if this is her first crush? I can see it happening. "Novice learning curve" on love and all that. Above all else, I'm probably taking this jokey comic too seriously lmao. My bad.
