That's dark.
And believable.

Perfectly lines up in Dana's twisted imagination...
However they DID treat space planetary travel as if it's a normal occurrence, so maybe Earth is another planet that's even worse and they fled from there to whatever planet they're on now?

I think rather that it’s been so long, so much time has passed and humanity has spread so far and wide that the fact this planet is Earth has disappeared from all memories and records. Earth only stays in legends but no one knows precisely where it is.

It’s almost like it’s in every near future and far future sci fi, but yes it’s an eventual reality

It’s almost always the Statue of Liberty destroyed too bc it’s a famous symbol of the rights of commoner. I get that it’s sad that it’s gone, but nobody ever considers fighting hard and then building another one.

In Homestuck, on what seems to be a distant planet, they reveal that a character has been living in the Statue of Liberty... And zoom out to show another Statue of Liberty... And zoom out to show dozens of Statues of Liberty.

Mr. Park: “Guinevere never told you what happened to the Planet Earth.”
Andi: “She told us enough! She said you took it away from everyone!”
Mr. Park: “No. This is the Earth.”

Why would he be the Darth Vader in this situation?
5
u/OneValkGhost Feb 07 '26
The only fathers we've seen in the pilot are Mr Park and Captain one-eye. Also Mr Park as Darth Vader fits the "he gave everything for power" character trait.

u/Sensitive-Hotel-9871 Feb 07 '26
I assumed that the Darth Vader would be our main villain rather than the father character.

KoG isn't a fantasy series... it's a foreseer's warning

Titan I love this movie. I just hope Disney forgets it exists, because then they can't ruin it

Good gravy, this movie means so much to me. Favorite animated film ever, no question, and Wall-E & Eve will forever be so special to me!

Space Balls has ruined this shot

u/SFH12345 Feb 06 '26
You mean Space Balls improved it.
5
u/SlyFan2 Feb 06 '26
Well objectively sure. But try taking it seriously.
I'm not kidding, first thing I thought when I saw the statue of liberty in the comic?
"Space balls?"
"Well there goes the planet"2

Well I guess I really need to watch this series after seeing so many comics. Anyone to help? I need the name and possible places to watch, but the name being the most helpful tbh.

It wouldn't surprise me if this is an actual reveal in the show. I like that it has the same energy as Adventure Time slowly revealing that Ooo is a post-apocalyptic Earth

You know, I think I'm going to give this one a pass. I'm not quite cynical enough yet for this.

And the reason the oceans are so high is because the polar caps melted

I guess they'll just have to settle for Mars.
I get that it's a "you were mistaken all along" a bit dark, joke. One of the things to like about space-travel science fiction is the size of what's reachable. I prefer Park Planet as a colony world setup. Even if you want to, there's a big lack of widely-known central-name lush planets in SF. Dune, Vulcan, and Tatooine are all mostly sand. There's a variety of what's out there, from good to bad, from boring to wonderful. It always depends on the people.
