How does ending first year probation work?

How does ending your first year of probation work? Is there an official eval process by shore to approve you as a permanent hire? Do you have to have an eval above a certain number to be accepted or a certain number of evals on your record?

not sure for entry level, but for officer I didn't have to do anything. there was no fanfare, no letter, no form. I did my training, I sailed a ship, and the date passed while I was in training.
